UF transfer John Egbunu is filing with the NCAA to be able to play this year. That would be huge for the Gators. Having a 6'11" 265lber in the paint would be something they haven't had in a while. Donovan is going to have a very talented team this year.
Hill
Frazier
Finney-Smith
Walker
Egbunu
Horford
Carter
Murphy
Not bad.

I'm a little surprised that the Gators are thought of so highly to start the year.
They have a lot of talent but a lot of unknowns. And they are replacing a lot of experience.
Should be a fun season.
Memphis lost their scrimmage today to a school called Christian Brothers tonight. Memphis was "receiving votes" for the preseason AP Top 25. Wow.

Typical start to the season for Billy D and the Gators.
Billy D is one of the few coaches in the country I would trade Coach Beilein for. My shortlist would include Donovan, Self, and Cal. You guys got a good one.

Billy D has done a phenomenal job of turning UF into a basketball school. Just look at some of the guys that have come through under him
PG - J.Williams, Calathes, T.Green
SG - Beal, M.Miller, J.White
SF - Parsons, Brewer
PF - Horford, D.Lee, Haslem
C - Noah, Bonner, Speights
That's a playoff team in the East easily. Will be interesting to see if Kasey Hill, Chris Walker, Michael Frazier, and the other on this years team can join them in the league.

Yup. One of the best coaches in the country at putting players in the NBA. 2nd to only Cal, I'd say.
Florida dropped one yesterday. Big lead in 2nd half dwindled down by the end. Kid from Miami was on fire from 3 point range. 2 points first half, 21 second. Only having 7 available definitely hurt
Any doubts on what a juggernaut Kentucky will be this year?
They're ridiculously talented.

Shouldn't be. Pretty incredible last night.

Nope. IMO, they are the clear best team in the country. I do think that there are few teams (Duke, Wisconsin, and maybe Arizona) that are very formidable opponents, though.
Florida got an ugly W last night. I am so ready for the injuries to heal, and the eligibility dates to get here.

That was almost really, really bad.

Almost only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and slow dancing.

Sure.
But I don't know how many top 10 teams lose at home to Miami and then go into OT with Louisiana-Monroe at home, too. Even with the injuries Florida has, they have more talent than both of those teams.
I thought there was a very interesting stat line the other night for Briante Weber of VCU. Granted, I'm a bit biased about it, but it was really impressive (if only to me):
In 33 minutes of play, he went 5 of 11 with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 9 steals and no turnovers.
I don't think he'll be able to keep up that kind of production, but that's a heck of a stat line for a Guard sharing time.
Come on Gators, pull this sucker out!
