Quote:You just can't draft RB's that high anymore.

You just can't.

You don't know how high we are picking next year. Let the season play out before you worry about if we are in Gurley's projection range.
0-16

This team is trash.

5-11

This team is trash.

There is no way that can happen. This team is not trash.
Yeah... We just CAN'T draft the best RB prospect coming into the draft this year. We HAVE to let another team like Tennessee or the Texans get him because there is no other way. We're run focused and have always had a star running back, but it's time to stop that and live with mediocre talent in the backfield.

We are slowly becoming a pass-focused team and will have a more balanced offense by the end of the year.
Doesn't matter if you're pass or run focused. Having a special RB that can randomly bust out and score a TD is a great thing to have. Elite RB's and a great pass attack makes opposing teams lose sleep. I just don't like the fact that we don't have an elite running-back anymore. Guess I'm just spoiled from Fred Taylor and MJD.

We were definitely spoiled with those guys playing together. But I would rather worry about the offensive line not giving them holes to run through. A running back is only as good as his offensive line.
I really don't see many games on the schedule that scream winnable to me at this point in time with the exception of maybe splitting the games with Houston and Tennessee. As of now I say maybe two wins. That is all subject to change once we see just how well bortles can improve the offense and if the line gets better. Defense still sucks too bad even if they can get better on offense. I don't see the Jags scoring 40 plus.

This team is trash.

Losing all your games in the NFL is possible but unlikely. The team is not very good right now but there are some bright spots. Like last year I expect them to improve as the season goes by. I think 5 games is possible with the teams left on the schedule.
Playing like we have for the first 2.5 games we won't win any games.

It is likely this team improves as the season progresses and hopefully gets healthier.

The changes being made these past couple weeks will have an impact I'm sure.

I'd like to say we can still win 8 games. But that is a tall order unless the D reverts back to first half of Philly and the O looks like the 2nd half of clots, minus some ints.

Right now? I'll guess 5 wins. Surprise one team (Dallas in London, Pitt at home), split with the division opponents (TN is not great, Houston is not great, we get the clots again right after a bye plus 3 division games at the end of the season when the whole team should be "gelled" enough), and beat a team like the Brownies (who may be playing Johnny Football by then) or the Phins (who may be playing Matt Moore).

I might change my guess depending on how we look the next two weeks.

San Diego - Loss
Pittsburgh - Win
Tennessee - Win
Cleveland - Loss
Miami - Win.
Cincinnati - Loss
Dallas - Loss
Indy - Loss
NYG - Win
Houston - Win
Baltimore - Loss
Tennessee - Win
Houston -Loss

6-10

4-12, maybe 5-11
@Chargers-L

Steelers-L

@Titans-W

Browns-W

Dolphins-W

@Bengels-L

Cowboys-L

@Colts-W

Giants-W

Texans-W

Ravens-L

Titans-W

@Texans-W

8-8

Wouldn't be surprised if we beat the Steelers or Cowboys or if we lost any of the remaining division games, so I think this team could realistically go anywhere from 5-11 to 9-7.

6-10
I'd take that.

That would be a 6-7 starting record for Bortles.

I think it is possible (though atm not probable) to beat Dallas in London, the rematch with the clots after a bye, and Cleveland
Quote:Here are my thoughts on the rest of the season based on what we see now. I have us finishing 5-11.

San Diego - Loss. No explanation needed. It's gonna get ugly.

Pittsburgh - Loss. Will be entertaining. Bortles will keep it close. Home crowd will be energized.

Tennessee - Loss. We are both messes, but they are less of a mess at this point. We avenge this loss week 16.

Cleveland - Win. Bortles is starting to come around and we win our first home game of the year.

Miami - Loss. Coming off big win over Cleveland, the overly confident team gets upset.

Cincinnati - Loss. No explanation needed. CIN is in a different league right now. Reality check game right here.

Dallas - Loss. Don't see us winning in London.

Indy - Loss. Closer game this time around. This close loss will give us hope for next year in the AFCS.

NYG - Win. Don't know why, but I think we win this one.

Houston - Win. We are building momentum.

Baltimore - Loss. Momentum is gone after this game, but can close out the season strong against 2 weak teams.

Tennessee - Win. Bortles and the offense will have found his grove by this time.

Houston - Win. Media outlets will start talking about 2015 and the bright future of the Jags after Bortles torches Houston's defense in the final game.

1 for 1.
