Quote:I'm certain he could have won the Eagles game.

Dude, we would have blown out the iiggles by the end of the 1st half.  They would never have had a chance to come back in the 2nd if BB5 was playing.

BB5 is money.  We saw it today.  Yeah, he'll make mistakes.  But we won't have 4 straight 3 and outs either.  Imagine our D with some rest...  Imagine our D playing with a lead!!!!
Quote:Only if he was playing defense.

LOL, do you even watch football?

Can you imagine our D playing with a lead while our offense is getting some first downs and flipping the field????

We would have blown out the iggles if BB5 was playing based on what we saw today!

C'mon, man.  Think about it...  Be smart

Shoulda, woulda, coulda. We couldn't stop Philly playing with a comfortable lead.
Quote:It was the perfect opportunity to put Bortles in and see what he could do. His performance had a few glitches along the way, but it did bring the fans back to their seats, and he showed enough to bring a lot of hope moving forward.

The D got better though, after 10 excruciating quarters of having to hit the field after just having a chance to sit down.
In the coming weeks, Gus will take over the defense

He's going to need to because it's becoming a real concern.

They got better? Allowing another two TDs in garbage time? You're delusional if you think this defense got better today allowing the most points we have this season. They suck. They got zero pressure on Luck. TEa running wide open in the secondary all day long, no one can cover. Back to Del Rios last two seasons. Good to know Reggie Nelson was the problem.
Actually he "made the move" before halftime. Blake was wearing his helmet after the two-minute warning.

Well that's an overwhelming vote of confidence.

The defense didn't do much today aside from a few stops. Indy was moving the ball at will most of the day.
The next order of business is to try and get this defense to play at even a mediocre level.

Other than Bortles starting there isn't much things that could be said in confidence
Quote:By stopping them for putting up 34? Seriously?

You're not gonna win many games allowing that many points, regardless who your QB is.
So the people who thought the line was the problem will be proved wrong and it began today. The next group will be the people that say the defense is the problem. They are not the problem. These dudes are on the field way to long. This defense is not top 5 but they are not trash like most are saying. But when you are on the field for 20 plus minutes in the first half you will start to ware down period. Knowing that our drives will get extended half of the time now, I think the defense is gonna take a big step.

Every minutes your offense is on the field, that's a minute your defense is off the field.

Awe, c'mon....

If we had a real QB we could have protected that lead.  The 2nd half of this game proves that...
I dont like Gus Bradley because he gets too much credit for doing nothing up to this point. And this whole Bortles thing push me over the edge with him but he needs to do something about this defense. That's your specialty and we shouldn't look this horrid. You spent half a draft on the secondary and money on the d line; we should not look like a college level defense.
Quote:I think it was Gus, there was no way he could stay with the status quo after that first half.
He did after last week.
Quote:Gus said " I just felt like he was ready so We made the move".
He wasn't quite ready when the game started, but then he read the playbook for another 15 minutes during the first half so I thought he was ready to go in at halftime.
Quote:Bortles would have been better had they just went ahead and started him
Didn't you know?  He wasn't "ready" at the start of the game.  The extra 30 minutes on the bench watching was crucial to his development.
Quote:Um... how do we 'know' this?

He just knew Henne was going to stink it up out there against the clots.

That was the surest bet ever in the history of the NFL.
I guess it just took a 30-0 Halftime deficit to wake up and smell the stupidity.
