True statement.

Posting something that idiotic merits a link.

Go ahead and link a post where I said "gabbert was not the problem."
Quote:Yes, because losing seasons always buy you more years from being fired.
Who said always? I'm talking about one franchise which is the Jaguars. If they don't sometimes buy you more years with a trump card of having a rookie franchise quarterback you won't play then Gus should be fired after this year. Pretty sure he'll have a trash record this year which would be two years of nothing but losing so I ask you why won't he be fired then?

Quote:No, you pointed out something that didn't have any bearing on my point, which is that Henne throws it short a lot because that's the kind of QB he is. If the coach isn't right behind him saying throw it down the field he's more apt to throw the checkdown.
You must really hate Brady and Luck, whose YPA are less than Henne's.

Well there goes your credibility.

Are you trying to deny the fact that you fully endorsed Gabbert over Henne pretty much all year last year?

I know I did. And I have a reason for it too.

Yep

What I always endorsed was starting the younger guy with some doubt as to whether he could improve over a veteran that I already knew wouldn't improve.

I never posted what bon claims I did. He's just being a troll.

I realized at some point that Gabbert wasn't going to get better and his youth didn't matter at that point, but that doesn't mean I had some desire to see Henne in the game.

I think I'd have enjoyed Matt Scott more. At least we didn't already know he was incapable of improvement.

I totally get it but I think a lot of us knew how bad Gabbert was pretty early on.

I am fully for putting Bortles into the game but it really has nothing to do with Henne. Hurns dropping that TD has nothing to do with Henne. Bortles just has the look of a guy who wants to lead and will do anything he can to make sure this team is a winner. Henne is just average at best.

Bortles gives us the best chance to win and I think everyone is on that page. Some people want to bash Henne in the process and some people would rather just compliment Bortles instead.

Sorry, I'm just not as patient for morons as you are when it comes to Henne.

I'd rather see the team lose trying to develop someone than play a dead end like Henne.

And I seem to recall a lot of people last year saying Henne had to start so that the rest of the team could develop. I'm still not seeing much development from the rest of the team right now.

Should have just tried Scott and Stanzi.

I sure that's true but I'm just saying I don't deny the logic not if it's possible or not.

Now I think there are ways to make your team a worse club than it could be. Starting a poor caliber qb or not running an effective scheme etc...

Well to be fair, we pretty much have an entire new offense so which players could we really develop last year? I think people were referring to Blackmon and Sanders since Blackmon clearly played better with Henne in the game last year. Now thats a totally mute point.

I would also rather see the team play Bortles and develop him right now than play Henne. I think everyone is in an agreement here with who they want to play. You just seem to want to bash Henne in the process which is totally fine but people will always call it out.

I work in an Elementary school so I have a ton of patience when it comes to terrible questions....

Gabbert never had a fair shake. We really dont know where Gabbert's ceiling was. He went through multiple OCs and he had JDR and Malarki (however you spell it) as HCs. I believe the young man has good talent and could have been an ok to good QB, maybe great if he would have sat his whole first year like we are trying to do with Bortles. He was said to be a project and not ready, but he was thrown into the fire and got burned due to him not being NFL ready. He never really had any stability through his tenure here with the franchise.

Now, you ask why did I support Gabbert over Henne? First, I knew Henne was garbage from his time in Miami. The guy was a pick 6 waiting to happen. Just like Gabbert should have never been drafted that high, Henne should have never been signed. Fans bashed sunshine for holding the ball too long, not climbing the pocket, not being able to audible to a compitent play, not being able to call out blocking assignments, and folding in the pocket. And what does Henne do now? All of those things. Brass claims that they are sitting BK5 to learn from Henne but wha tis he learning? If it was me, I would have kept Gabbert since you know he had an expiring contract and you could have easily parted ways with him after this season. Henne would hae been perfect trade bait for a decent TE, OL, or FS.

No way. You can't teach someone to be unafraid to take a hit. Pocket presence can not really be taught. Gabbert was trash and will be trash. Look how badly he played in SF with arguably the biggest QB guru in Harbaugh.
