true. it took TD and Warner a few to get in.
Jason Taylor is not Hall of Fame great. He's Duane "The Rock" Johnson on Ballers
Just like I predicted!
Quote:Its an absolute joke that TO isn't in there.

I disagree.  He totally disrupted the 49ers and Eagles, even going so far as to state that his QB Jeff Garcia was gay.   I think he called McNabb a choke during his playing days with the Eagles.

Glad he's not in.

Get outta here with that. Charles Haley is in the hall of fame, Marvin Harrison is in the hall of fame , Ray Lewis will be next year.

Terrel Davis finished 55th in rushing yards and got in. TO is second in receiving yards and can't get it.

This is my line of thinking as well.  Getting this far in the process bodes well for Tony Boselli's future HOF chances.
A Kicker?  What some people consider the most dominant tackle of the last two decades...  A KICKER!!!!

We somehow live in a world where a kicker made the hall of fame and the 2nd or 3rd best WR of all time did not.

Not good - don't think any OLinemen got in this year?

If so, there will be an even bigger pool of them for Boselli to compete against next year.
I would love to be in the room with these folks. How do you put career length on Boselli, yet give TD a pass? Who was the more dominant player at thier position? Boselli. I just don't see how you put Davis and Mort in before Tony B and TO, arguably one of the best at their positions to a kicker and some above average rb. These panelist making picks are pretty bad.
To be fair to Morten Andersen, I think he was a little better than "a kicker".

If you don't recognise the achievements of arguably the greatest kicker of all time, you are shutting the door on all kickers - and that's clearly wrong.

One of the best kickers in NFL history, hands down.
Jason Taylor gets in, but Tony Boselli doesn't?!  How the heck does that happen?  Why does Taylor belong in the first place, but over Boselli?

I understand Team Obliterater not getting in.  Great in between the lines, terrible as a teammate.  He must eventually get in, though.  You can't tell the story of the NFL without TO.

Why does Jason Taylor not belong in the HOF?

Just went and looked up his stats.  Clearly, he belongs based on sacks alone.

I just didn't remember him being that important.  But since he played on mostly some pretty average (or less) teams, I never saw him play that much.  But I still don't believe he should be in over the best left tackle of his generation in Boselli.

There were 15 finalists. It is impossible to determine this guy got in over that guy when there are five or six former players in the class. Mathematically they could have both been selected.
Congrats on Boselli for getting in the HOF #alternativefacts
Anyone know what the percentages of someone making it to the finalist stage and eventually making it in? Is it a forgone conclusion he will make it in or could he eventually fall by the wayside?

But, still just a kicker. That's not a position the hall usually puts much focus on.

Boselli will eventually get in. This is his first time as a finalist. He got a lot of high profile support. It will happen.

As some on twitter said nicely, if you aren't a Tuesday player you shouldn't even be considered for the HoF. Team returns from the off day and first thing you do is get in a meeting room and discuss how in the world you are going to mitigate so and so. Those guys are potential hall of famers.

Obviously, no team has ever spent Tuesday preparing on how you have to cope with a kicker.
