Frustrating injury that didn't need to happen.

Quote:I'm talking about the running game, and while you say that the preseason rarely is any indication....well, the Jags run blocking this preseason, looked an awful lot like the same poor run blocking we saw last regular season.Detroit ranked 6th last year in rushing allowed.
Huh? The Falcons and Bears defenses stink.

Well the running game relates to the passing game, when was the last time a defense was concerned about the Jags passing game.

Quote:Well Dave has mentioned a few times that re-signing Shorts is a high priority....Experience factor. However, if these rookies show up, he has no leverage in terms of expecting high numbers
Not sure why it would/ should be one.

Three starting WR's who's never played a single NFL snap = instant success!

Quote:Philly's run defense is no where near the level of what we faced in the preseason
Philadelphia was 4th best in the NFL last year with only 3.8 yards per carry allowed.

It's going to be interesting.

So are they going to bring someone up from the PS (K. TAYLOR) for tomorrow or just roll with 4 receivers?

I honestly anticipated CSIII not playing against Philly for some reason. This only means that the three rookie WRs along w/our second year WR is in effect...

The team already stated they are just going with four receivers.

Quote:It would be so ironic if Hurns ended up being the man after so many wasted draft picks, many of which were first rounders.
I honestly feel that Hurns will stack up well against any 2014 drafted receiver. He's shown plenty of talent/poise...

never with Henne as he doesn't attempt a pass over 10 yards in the air ... you can stack the box with 9 guys and shut down Henne's passing lanes

If someone is activated from the PS, they'd remain on the 53 for four weeks at least.

It is 3 weeks, gets paid 3 weeks and counts against the 53 man roster for 3 weeks

Not like Chad ever throws to Cecil anyway. Captain Checkdown finds the closest receiver possible.

All things being equal, I'd prefer talent to experience.
That said, experience can help.
I have to think Hurns, with the most experience in this system, has to be the focal point.
It will be interesting to see how the Eagles defend this group minus Shorts. My guess is there will be more man and press coverage until the receivers demonstrate they can beat the jam, read blitz and get open, because given the state of the OL, I expect a lot of blitzing, early, too.
My hope is that we can hit a deep pass or two early, back the secondary off and then work underneath.

Thats kinda foolish, given that Allen Robinson is just getting back from a hamstring issue himself. He could easily suffer an in-game setback. IMO they should have activated Kerry Taylor for this one as a 5th.
