BAHAHA. I totally called Henne and poz. but LEwis? Seriously? Lewis? Mr. quit on the team cuz the coach is too hard on us lewis? Cmon man...Thats like the most anti-leader action you could take on a football team.

Quote:Big Rob, it is OK because he is the quarterback for all of 2014 unless something happens to him. Gus Bradley is still adamant that Henne will start all 16 games if he can.

Please show a single quote where Bradley has said Henne will start all 16 games. Just one.

TMD, err I Mean BasshunterX, please let us know when Lewis "quit on the team".

He admitted so in an interview earlier this year. Mularkey "took all the fun out of football" and lewis decided to quit on the team. Take a look at the stats for him that year for even more confirmation. Sure, Mularkey was about as bad of a head coach as you could get but quitting on your team regardless of the circumstance is a black mark on your record forever.

I believe it's a sign that they expect big things from him this season. From both a leadership and production standpoint.

Saw that interview. Your interpretation is, umm, well, let's just say it's not lacking in poetic license.

(Lewis didn't say that and he didn't even imply it either.)

Can you provide a link to that interview, or should we just take your word for it?

52 catches, 540 yards and 4 TD's is supposed to confirm what exactly TMD?

Did he not say in that interview "Mularkey took all the fun out of football" and then followed up with admitting he didnt play his best? I think reading inbetween the lines gives me the fact that he simply quit on the team as most of the players did that season. Funny enough, Most of them are out the door.

With all this said, I really hope Lewis got a breath of fresh air and puts up some numbers this year.

Don't know. Maybe you could provide a link to the interview where we could answer that question?

I do have some recollection of the interview, and I think you're right. The interpretation is definitely a loose one.

I didn't interpret it the way you did - and yes, here's hoping he puts up some numbers this year.

Alright, I stand corrected and admit fail. Not sure why I remembered it in such a harsh manner.

Alright, I stand corrected and admit false.

So you deem him worthy of captainhood???

Not nearly as against it as I was. I think his selection should allow us to expect big things from him this year.
I think he's considered one of the leaders in the locker room.

Chad Henne? Ok we get it Gus Bradley, he's your starting quarterback who reads defenses and moves the offense faster. Trying real hard to pound this point across. Big scheme of things who really cares about being a lead employee on a football team outside of who appoints it? Hope none of you don't.

Well, he ought to get more opportunity to be a receiving TE if this break down from O'Halloran is correct:

Quote:
How will Lewis be used this year?

The easy answer is “A lot.”

A breakdown of Lewis’ 54 snaps of preseason work:

■ Run-blocker: 20. (Lewis is one of the game’s best blocking tight ends.)

■ Pass-protector: Seven. (The injury to right tackle Austin Pasztor could see Lewis helping Cam Bradfield in this area.)

■ Route-runner: 27. Lewis’ six catches totaled 100 yards (gains of 9 20, 12, 14, 15 and 30 yards) and generally came in the middle of the field.

Lewis cites his off-season workout routine for keeping him focused when he puts on pads and a helmet.

“Sometimes people talk about, ‘Well, he’s doing mixed martial arts and swimming,’ but I do that to challenge my body so when I do come back here [for camp], I’m hungry and not burned out from doing a bunch of football workouts,” he said. “I came here [this year] in my best shape ever.

“Now it’s time to carry it over to the season.”

Lewis’ career-high numbers were all in 2010 – 58 catches, 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl. It’s ambitious to think he can match those, but the stars could be aligned for a solid year.

Lewis has a good rapport with Chad Henne and when Blake Bortles takes over, tight ends are always a young quarterback’s safety outlet. Both passers have no problem throwing into tight spaces and letting players like Lewis go up and get the football.

“Honestly, you think about it,” Lewis said of projecting his numbers. “But for me, I want to be the best all-around tight end I can be for this team. If I do that, things will stack up.

“But what I’ve done in practice is nothing outside of what I can do in a game. If I [translate that to the season], I know I give our offense a shot at being elite.”

This is awesome
