Quote:Well, he ought to get more opportunity to be a receiving TE if this break down from O'Halloran is correct:

I get the feeling Lewis will love those stretch plays and bootlegs.
Quote:Chad Henne? Ok we get it Gus Bradley, he's your starting quarterback who reads defenses and moves the offense faster. Trying real hard to pound this point across. Big scheme of things who really cares about being a lead employee on a football team outside of who appoints it? Hope none of you don't.

Apparently his teammates do.

Quote:So you deem him worthy of captainhood???
Quote:Apparently his teammates do.

Yep. In case it hasn't been mentioned - the players did indeed vote on the captains. Gus confirmed that in his presser today.
I guess I was wrong on Henne and Lewis.  There goes my healthy optimism for the season...

What will we do without it?
Quote:wait till this thread get's derailed into a discussion about the color of the "C" on the captain's jersey.  Clearly black would increase fatigue....

LMBO. I nearly spat my beer all over my laptop reading that.

Suffer and be miserable. Optimism is prevention for that.
Quote:Please show a single quote where Bradley has said Henne will start all 16 games.  Just one.

I'd be interested in seeing such a quote as well, although I'm fairly certain no such quote exists. I do recall a reporter suggesting that if Henne keeps playing well he could conceivable start all 16 games this season, and Bradley admitted that it's possible while saying it's not something he's talked about with Bortles.

Quote:What outrage? I don't recall reading about any "outrage", and that's the type of story one would probably remember. Link something for us, oh great Malcontent Chihuahua, and back your words up or stop spitting them out.

I don't recall any outrage over the captain naming either although I do know the players vote for their captains now and have as long as I can remember. Moreover, the Jaguars players definitely voted for the six captains the first year this happened, and this article confirms it...

Teams btw were allowed to name six captains starting with the 2007 season. The Jaguars refrained from doing so until voting for six captains in 2011.

Is it coincidence she has yet to respond to this subject even thought it has been questioned multiple times?

Not really.  She's been very busy praying for Bortles.  She's not much of a multi-tasker.

I am referring to his interview on NFL Total Access. Someone asked him if there is any plan to start Blake Bortles this year. He reiterated what David Caldwell said during the first round of the draft: the team is not going to name Blake the starter until 2015. I don't remember any quotes, but that clearly was the message Gus sent to the NFLTA guys.

Actually I have not started praying for him yet. Prayers for Chad Henne come first, you know.
So who are the captains this year?

Quote:So who are the captains this year?
Quote:JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars named four captains on Wednesday: quarterbackChad Henne, tight end Marcedes Lewis, linebacker Paul Posluszny, and kicker Josh Scobee

The captains were determined by a player vote on Monday, and it's the third year in a row that Posluszny has earned the honor. It's the second year in a row in which Scobee has been a captain.

I'll give you this much after having found the interview. Gus said...

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"We do feel good about where Blake's at, but we feel like this time he has under Chad, a year to develop, will be really good for him in the end result. Our plan is to stay really strong with this."

Here's the interview...
