Jaguars UDFA Allen Hurns is expected to open the season as the team's No. 3 receiver, behind Cecil Shorts and Marqise Lee.

Shorts is the X and Lee the Z receiver in two-wide sets. In the three-wides, we suspect Lee will move inside to the slot, with Shorts and Hurns on the outside. Hurns beat out Mike Brown for the No. 3 role, although he will soon be pushed by recovering second-rounder Allen Robinson (hamstring). Despite Hurns' big August, Robinson is by far the superior stash in Dynasty leagues.
Was hoping he'd start in 2 WR sets, based off of his play in the preseason, but he'll be there shortly if he continues as was.

Hurns is deserving... BUT he's #3 by default...

shorts, AR15, Lee, and Hurns to go along with Bortles? The football gods are really rewarding opus after years of Jason Hill, Mike Thomas, and Leftwich
I think that is fair.  If he continues on what he was doing in preseason then he's going to get time in 2 WR sets.

Very impressive Dude in the preseason.

Wish him well, if he keeps producing like he has.....

good things will come his way.....and ours!

How'd you guys like to have 3 or 4 monster receivers?

I think Hurns will be our #1 Wr when its all said and done.  & If all the rookies step up & play well Cecil might be gone at seasons end. A red flag would be if they don't sign him during the season. I want Cecil to step up and play big boy football for a full season without getting hurt and earn that new contract.  Either way I think we are set at Wr for years to come however it plays out.

#WithOrWithoutCecil!

I would love for that to happen, but only if that means Marqise and Robinson were difference makers as well

I don't know about being the #1.  Robinson has been hurt and has a ton of potential and Lee is only going to get better.
I can't freaking wait to see Allen Robinson play. I hope he can be that go up and get it deep threat/ red zone threat guy as well as some nice catch and run plays. He has huge potential.

Bah! What has shorts done this year to warrant being automatically placed as the #1?

Should be Hurns, Lee, Shorts, Robinson, Brown

Is there a WOOSH in effect here???

CSIII's #1 status is derivative of his 2013 performance and 2014 rookie presence(s)...

Yes I completely fail to comprehend how Mr. Drop the ball Shorts is the number 1 receiver on this team.
The guy was undrafted, many expected him to make the practice squad at best leading up to training camp, and now he's made the roster as the third receiver. Awesome story. Hopefully he is able to prove himself worthy of this by becoming a productive, reliable outlet for our QBs.
Shorts deserves to be number 1. The idea that some rookie (Hurns, Lee, or Robinson) who has never played against a regular season defense is going to be the go to guy is absurd. I'd be stunned if any of these guys had a decent year. Rookie receivers generally struggle. That's just the way it is. They have potential, but that is all it is right now.

Proven production. Knows the offense and routine. Just because he's #1 on the depth chart doesn't mean they think he's the most talented.
