especially since Blackmon wasn't even returning calls previously. I remember back in May or something someone asked Cecil about Blackmon and at that point was saying he wasn't taking his calls or returning them to anyone.

Ummm Cecil said he hasn't talked to Blackmon but understands he is "doing well".

Ok but before Cecil wasn't even privy to that. Cecil claimed before when asked that he had no idea about Blackmon's status.
So this is a positive step.
Try not to sound to excited about it.

Right. Cecil may not have talked to him but someone he trusts enough to share with Sexton obviously have. It's minor - but it's encouraging.
I loved two items in the Shorts video. First, that he indicates he does know what is going on with Blackmon and that he's doing really well...I hope for many different reasons that Justin is able to recover. And second, that he just lit up when describing Bortles as a gamer.

I want JB back more than anyone, but I've heard before that he is doing well and look where we are. I am just being realistic... I hope he does get it together.

More than likely considering he started the response the same way he did the prior times he was asked. He's had no contact with Blackmon in a while. Any information he provided after that was second hand information he was given.

With that said, we need to cut Justin Blackmon. He's done. He was done the minute he put on #14.
This front office would be wise to look and try to trade him to the Patriots, or just cut their losses. It's been over for Blackmon the moment he put on that Jaguar jersey.

Can you please now apologize to me and others that have already been telling you that Blackmon is a lost cause. I don't know why you were defending him so vehemently when you knew all along he was aligned in the stars to be a failure with the Jaguars.

He didn't have to say he hadn't talk with him. He didn't have to say he knew anything about the situation. It's a small thing but it's a step in the right direction

"Doing well" just means made bail.

Apparently the local liquor store is having a closeout sale on Jim Beam, buy 1 get 1 half off. Blackmon was profoundly excited upon hearing this news and is "doing well."

This. Blackmon or a family member could conceivably have had some contact with someone in the Jaguar organization who passed on the message that Blackmon's doing well, whether that's true or not. At this point, saying, "I don't know," just ensures that the media will ask you about it over and over again, more so than they're going to do anyway. Just say that you've heard he's doing well and move on to the next question.
