Quote:Same would be said of RB. If getting a bargain relative to position is the deal then we pretty much have to go Allen, Thomas, or Lattimore.
Im pretty locked in on Solomon Thomas.
mike kaye said he thinks well push hard for a free agent corner while Ramsey is on his rookie deal. Makes even more sense now with pretty much all the good edge rushers tagged. If so then Lattimore might end up picking off blake in tennessee

Thomas is perfectly fine. Anything but RB and it will be hard to complain with this tier.
I've pretty much resigned myself to believing the Titans will get Adams or Lattimore and terrorize us for a decade.
Now that FA has happened, Hooker makes more sense than Adams as far as needs goes. I think as of now there's a strong possibility no QB goes in front of us and it'll be something like Garrett, Allen, Thomas, pretty much leaving us with a decision of Hooker or Fournette (with Howard as a dark horse pick). As much as I like LF and think he'll be a game-changer, I'm almost leaning towards Hooker now. Gipson hasn't really impressed, but he's not so terrible so there's not going to be a need to rush Hooker in there. Hooker can rehab and get 100% healthy and work on his tackling. I'd consider him in on Dime and maybe some Nickel to get more experience until his tackling isn't a liability, then at that point he can take over the FS spot.
IIRC, Gipson's contract allows us to part ways next year pretty smoothly if he struggles. If he ends up being great, then shouldn't be too hard to trade him, his contract is moderate.

not to worried about Lattimore. I just hope they don't get Adams. Although Fournette vs Adams would be fun.

I've thought about this and understand why you don't want Adams. It's simple... we have Church now filling the role that Adams would occupy. With that in mind the thought is Adams wouldn't see the field much as a rookie. So yeah, I'm with you here... but at the same time I wouldn't mind it either. In my mind, Adams is the best player in this draft after Garrett, and I bet he'd even take over the SS role from Church during his rookie season. You know you'd be getting one heck of a player, so when you look at it that way, it's not so bad making him possibly the most expensive backup S ever.
Adams just ran a 4.33. I know the times can be skewed a bit at pro days, but that's still insane.

I love that guy. I think he's the best player in the draft. Fournette makes more sense for the jags, and my gut tells me that's where they're going, but I think Adams is going to be dominant and a great leader.

Wow... Adams is a phenomenal talent.
Get this... I posted my mock in an AFC S group, and I had the Titans getting Adams at #5. The Titans fans are telling me that's a stupid pick because they just picked up a SS in free agency. At this I had to laugh because they picked up Cyp.

I think Adams can play either safety spot or the slot. He's my number one choice for the Jags to draft in the first.

LSU must have a fast surface.
Deion Jones also ran .2 faster at the pro day last year. From a 4.59 to 4.39
Jalen Mills went from 4.61 (combine) to 4.47 (pro day)

I agree. He would be my number one choice at 4. I get that we signed Gipson last year and church this year. But those 2 players are not a reason to pass on an absolute stud like Adams.

Adams was totally my #1 choice before we signed Church. Now it's just tough with Church there, but I certainly wouldn't mind him being the pick. He's certainly worth it in terms of value.
I used to want Hooker over Adams because those interceptions of his were just so darn impressive, but Adams is the more complete player--I see that now.
I don't think Safety is a need for us any longer though. This defense, at least on paper, is scary good.
Thomas, Adams, or Howard and I'm happy.
Or Allen if he checks out medically.
