I think it should be

1. Shorts

2. Hurns

3. Lee

4. Robinson

5. Sanders

etc...

Quote:I've said it before, if Hurns is not starting week one it's a travesty and a total disservice to him, given his production against 1st team defenses thus far.
At this point I am guessing Hurns and Shorts with Lee rotating in and out. Robinson will be the #4 guy since he hasn't had much practice.
Hurns looked good for one game. Shorts has been a solid starter yet injury prone WR for a couple years. Lee looks like he could be a solid starter. No idea what Robinson will look like. Sanders has been a pretty unknown figure with a couple bright spots. No idea what to make of Kerry T  / mike brown. IMHO neither of them will touch 200 yds this season.

Quote:It doesn't have to be just 6'5" 220 though.

I'd easily rather have a receiver 6' 1 or 6' 2" than those 5' 9 or 5' 10"

Jimmy Smith was 6' 1" , 207. Thats enough.

I wouldn't draft a WR at less than 6', 200" in todays game.

I don't disagree that (all other things equal) a receiver with size is more ideal than a small receiver, but there are a handful of very productive WRs that wouldn't make your cut:

Antonio Brown

Randall Cobb

DeSaun Jackson

Steve Smith

Kendall Wright

T.Y. Hilton

Only one of them (Antonio Brown) is a legitimate WR1, but the other guys are more than worthy of being drafted/rostered. It sounds like Brandin Cooks will be added to that list sooner than later, too.
Quote:What's the plan for Hurns? Does he sit behind Doss and Brown? Stash him on the PS? Wouldn't want to ruin him until a starting caliber QB is playing.
The Gus Bus is gonna sit him behind Cecil Shorts for the year so he can learn and continue to work on his footwork and other nuisances of being a wide receiver. He's not quite ready to play yet.

Hurns has looked good in every game really. When he's been out there, he's been the go-to-guy.

Lee looks like a rookie, hasn't really shown anything, much less, starter status... he's a slot guy, imo.

Sanders was a pretty well known figure last year. Once back from suspension the coach staff probably assumes he can step in and contribute.

Here's an idea of what to make of Taylor and Brown, they are 5/6 receivers at best, one has a shot at being depth, the other PS/cut. However, Brown very well could see 200 yards, if Shorts is injured as usual and if Robinson doesn't get healthy and if he or Lee don't progress you could see a "jack of all trades master of none" Brown see the field more.

Hogwash!
Quote:What was Keenan McCardell's 40 time?   Glacial.

Jerry Rice's 40 time...........4.71. No, I'm not saying he's the second coming of Rice, just pointing out that straight-ahead speed is just one component of a great receiver. Getting in and out of cuts, running correct routes, creating separation, finding the sweet spots of zone coverage, great hands, yards after the catch.........all important factors as well.

I'll take superb route running and sure hands over speed anyday.
