Enjoy the next week of pain.

surprisingly legs weren't the worst of it. I'm thankful for that
I just do Army PT and eat whatever Hooah!
So got some bloodwork back from the doc, I am borderline diabetic apparently in that crucial stage where I can either reverse it or swing into full on type 2 diabeetus. I'm glad I started this whole thing, but now got to work even harder to get through it. He prescribed me pills but I think that I won't take those.

I am to go on a low glycemic diet or something like that which is probably close to what I'm on now.

might be a good idea to take those and work as hard as possible to avoid that life. I've hard the diabetic life is no fun from what I gather but work hard and nip it in the butt now. You can do it man.
Cranked out 7 miles total of walking today after doing a 3 mile walk. 16,500 steps. Only put in about 1400 calories total today so grinding it up.

Good job!
Thought I'd resurrect this thread. We could use some more discussion here, especially during theach dead zone.

I've finally been back in the gym 5 days a week for a month strong now. Moving really through a wrench in the lifting/meal planning.

I'm planning to start a cut here in a week (once family stops visiting) Now I absolutely despise cutting/cardio so I'm going to be doing a psmf/vlcd diet for a couple week. It sucks, but the results are much quicker than doing a standard 500 cal deficit cut

When it comes to psmf/vlcd, most people like ketchup with them. I prefer BBQ sauce, myself.
What a coincidence.

My work regimen has increased as well.

I've advanced from 12-ounce curls, to 16-ounce.  Every once in a while, if I want to push the limits, I'll do 24-ounce curls.

Best thing I did was lose 10-15 lbs.  All my numbers got better, bloodwork and blood pressure.

The most sane thing I've found is moderate everything.  Moderate intake, moderate exercise (that does not have to be intense/crossfit/crazy train stuff - walking is fine.)

Yeah, I usually lift for 30-45 minutes weekday mornings before work. Then chasing my 11 month old around is enough cardio lol

I can maintain my weight pretty easily, and all my bloodwork is pretty much perfect. I just gained a few pounds around the midsection with moving and starting a new job. Want to just drop those 10 pounds as quick as possible and then go back to normal.
In all seriousness, I religiously do a 5.2 mile walk every morning.  Been doing it since 1/1/2008.  It's an hour out of my day.  Then I just eat sensibly (for the most part).  And it keeps weight, BP, and vitals all in line.

And BigJag57....if the doctor prescribed meds, there's a reason.  Why go to the doctor in the first place if you're not going to follow directions?

That was one heck of a long gap in between responses. Since then though, I've managed to drop my glucose and A1C down to almost normal levels. About another 6 months and I should be good.
I love weight training and was seeing some good results. Then 2 surgeries in 14 months, the most recent a shoulder surgery, has me so off track it's sad. I just finished physical therapy and my physical therapist said I can start back within the limits of his instructions and build from there. I was power walking 4-5 days a week 5 miles a day in a really hilly neighborhood so my heart rate got up real well, but now it's so hot and humid I try to get to the gym and use the treadmill on a steep incline. Sadly the gym isn't right outside my door like my neighborhood is. I'm prone to heat exhaustion so I have to be careful in the summer. Thankfully summer here isn't 3/4 of the year like it is down there.

This is an old thread, brought back to life.  I'd been wondering where Melisandre had gone when she left Winterfell.  I used to hit the weights semi-regularly then I got old which comes with a variety of problems including painful joints, so now my CAP's sit in their rack, gathering dust.  Makes me sad.

Not those kind of joints, RJ.

I changed my diet, now I've lost 30lbs in 3,5 months.

I can bench press David Lamm.

That's awesome DF!

I too have lost alot of weight (22 lbs so far) in just a few months mostly by diet change. Near the end of March, I quit drinking any kind of soda/pop, drastically dropped eating anything with alot of sugars (cookies, candies, etc), and eating a lot more salad and vegetables.

I also do abdominal exercises 2-3 times per week, and some occasional weight lifting when time permits. However, I'm confident most of my success so far is due to the dietary change.

For me, "Sugar is the Devil".

I did much the same. I still take in a bunch carbs at breakfast but lunch and dinner are now as low carb as I can get them. I used to eat rice or pasta with almost every meal in the evening so dinner could easily be over 100 grams of carbs just by itself. Now I try to eat fewer than 100 grams in my entire day.

I haven't been doing much exercise with it though, but once F1 qualifying ends later today I'm going out to buy a rowing machine. I'm hoping to get 15 to 30 minutes of exercise in each day.
