Quote:Just looking at the list of guys we brought in, I would fully expect Coleman, Reynolds and Loston to make the team. All were projected to be th-5th round picks and all sure can play.

Yeah, I'd expect all three to make it as well. Still wish we could've got Christian Jones too.
Quote:Man it's like everything has gone our way as much as it possibly can in the draft and FA to this point. If Christian Jones stayed here if would've been terrific.

the hell with Christian Jones. I hate that guy now.

Lol, settle down.  Don't be bringing bad karma to the Jags.  Wish him the best!
Quote:What should I have done differently here, Journalism 101 experts? What was inaccurate in my reporting of noted unofficial signings?
Taken Journalism 101, for starters. :p

Seriously, though, if you're going to race to get the news out first via instant-post outlets like Twitter, you're going to blow some. When you do, you shake it off, retract your report and move on. Don't come onto a message board and get annoyed with the participants because the erratic reporting, which is partially a result of UDFA itself, and partially a result of the "tweet first" mentality, was poked fun at.

Quote:How in the %@#@)* did Rashaad Reynolds go undrafted? Jags scored bigtime with that UDFA.
I remain apprehensive about this "Jags stole one" mentality. We saw a lot of the same reactions to the Matt Scott signing, and he's iffy to make the practice squad at this point.

Quote:Here's a list, which may not be complete.

I know there's virtually no chance of this happening, but I really want Chad Zucchini to beat Anger for a job. There's a training camp battle for you: the Angry Zucchini showdown.

Do I even want to know what you think about the kid who stole your lunch money?

I agree with these 3 and wouldn't be surprised for at least a few other like Cobb, Jensen and Morris to at least make the practice squad.

Hey, he screwed us. If anyone is bringing bad karma its him to the Bears or himself.

You can't be mad at me for being mad at someone who screwed us over.

That is gold right there!! Laughing Laughing

I did the stealing of lunch money, thank you!,,,, :teehee:

He left?!?

Damn!

Yep, last night he "de-committed" his verbal with Jacksonville, and took an offer with the Bears.
He would have looked better in Teal and Black

Yup, disappointed he left. A LB group of Poz, Dekoda, Hayes, Reynolds, Smith, and Jones would've looked nice.
Bears have the history but we got Poz
He would've been all but guaranteed a roster spot here in Jax. Dumb move on his part or more than likely bad agent advice.
I know right

Or the Bears said, "The Jaguars are offering you a $5,000 signing bonus? We'll offer you $7,000 upfront."

Considering that, for a lot of UDFAs, that's the only money they'll ever get from the NFL, those extra $2k mean a lot.

If this is what actually happened then I'm glad he's not on this team. He's an absolute idiot.

Extra 2k, doesn't make the final roster with Bears, relegated to practice squad

or

2k less, but 90% chance of making the final roster with the Jags w/actual playing time AND signing a rookie contract worth 400k+.
Calm down im sure he will start he was very talented. Plus Bears have been known for having a good Defense so maybe the extra money plus being part of the Bears big market vs our small young franchise played a role.
Where can I go see the up to date list of UDFAs signed? every list I google has different names.

nvm found it

Do the Bears still employ Mel Tucker? Laughing Good luck with that, Christian!

I read something a long time ago, probably 10+ years back, about the art of wooing UDFAs. The GM has to sell the UDFA on his team being the best fit. With UDFAs in particular, there's generally a very strong push from the agent to chase the signing bonus. Agents aren't dumb. They know that for 90% of UDFAs, that $5-10k signing bonus is the only money they'll ever make on their client. Even though a guy might be a good fit for a team offering $5k up front, the agent will often push the player hard to sign with a team where he's less likely to stick, but will get additional cash up front.
