Sitting a QB for a year is how it's done right. Not everyone is Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning. Most guys would benefit from a redshirt year, and Bortles will be better for it.

They're not handing him the job from day 1 and this shouldn't upset you.
Gus wants competition, he wants players to earn the starting spot. Make him earn the right to be the QB during camp and pre-season.

That's not the point. The point is you protect your investment and develop him. Still think he takes the job at some point in the season, regardless of their statement.
I don't know what you expected, it's not like the team is good enough to contend yet anyway.
Just be patient.

You shouldn't have to protect the 3rd overall pick. Other teams are taking day 1 starters and we're taking an undeveloped quarterback.
