And I hope he fails there.
I don't want them to be successful.
But I do like Mallett and have always stuck by my opinion of him and that he'd eventually get some team to deal for him before his contract ran out.
Gosh. That's really going out on a limb to suggest that New England would try to find a sucker to take their cast offs before they hit free agency. THAT'S never happened before. I guess we should be in awe of you, but the smell of burned grease diminishes the moment.
When Mallet fails, this post shows the tap dance you'll do to explain away your love for the guy. Saying you hope he fails is nothing more than cover. If he is even marginally average, you'll snap your spine patting yourself on the back for how much of a talent evaluator you are. We know the drill. Cover your rear, then prepare to tell the world how smart you are, then run away when it blows up in your face. It's what you do.

Quote:LOL... no one's cared whether or not he'd get traded the entire time.
Gabbert was traded too.
Whoopie!
Doesn't make either a quality QB. That's been the entire point all along.
Steelers traded for Leftwich...
really comparing those 2 with this??
Mallett is being traded for to be their franchise guy. Their starting QB.
Leftwich and Gabbert were traded on the cheap to be a backup.

Quote:The point was the Texans ultimately didn't "tank for Teddy" per se, (and I admitted wrong there in that aspect of the concept) but they still tanked for the concept, i.e. --the #1 pick--, which ultimately gives them the most opportunities.
Again, go read what I said in that thread as I explained it. I don't need to go over it all again here.
The point is, you said the Texans tanked for Teddy. You said it repeatedly. You said it hundreds of times, and regularly chastised the Jaguars for winning games and costing themselves an opportunity to draft what you evidently saw as a once in a generation QB. You lauded the Texans front office for having the foresight to force their coach to switch players, tank games, and assure the #1 pick so that they would reap the benefits of landing Teddy Bridgewater. I'm pretty sure you've gone further predicting the tacks would do the same thing this year in order to land Winston.
Now you're trying to tap dance away from it by first saying you actually meant they were tanking for the draft pick. That was never your premise. It was always tanking for Teddy. It doesn't matter how you try to massage facts now. Everyone here sees through your bilge and recognizes you for the flip flopping fence post hopper you are.

Gabbert has more of a resume than Mallett in the NFL. So does Leftwich. If the Texans are dumb enough to trade for Mallett to be their "franchise guy", they're in for a real disappointment. But, when he falls on his face and fails there, we already know where you'll stand on the issue. As far away from the topic as possible.

Getting the number one selection was ALWAYS the end game for the Texans. I just miscalculated on who it was they were going to use it on. I admit I was WRONG in thinking it was for Teddy. I OWN that part.

The delusion is strong in this thread. Mallet a franchise guy lol

Step to the left, curtsy.
Step to the right, dip.
Step forward, bow.
Step back, wiggle your hips.
That's how you do the TMD Two Step!

That wasn't your point, and you know it. You love to accuse others of this, but clearly, you're the stinking liar here. Try to maneuver as you must, but you're nothing but a liar if you're now trying to convince this board that it wasn't tanking for Teddy that was your mantra for the last 2 months of the season. You should be embarrassed by this, but somehow you're simply not smart enough to recognize just how idiotic you sound. It was an absolute obsession for you, and it wasn't about the top pick, but one player. Admitting you were wrong about that but right about the first pick is just a bald faced lie.

Consider the source. Delusion is a lifestyle.

Whats so hard for you to understand?? I ADMIT I thought Teddy was who they were going to use the #1 pick on, I was WRONG there.
The idea to tank though was and IS always to get the #1 pick so you have ALL the options. Teddy could have been hit by a bus and died before the draft, then what??? They'd still have the #1 pick overall to use for the next best available. or trade.
As it turned out, Teddy was NOT who they used their #1 pick on. But it STILL was smart to tank for the 1st overall pick.
Thats the point.

Quote:Mallett getting traded. While yes, some did see it coming (around the league), this board had its contingent of Mallett haters, who acted like no one wanted him, and wouldn't give up anything for him in a trade.
I've maintained for years, ever since he was selected by the Patriots that he'd be flipped at a later date.
I posted months ago that I saw the texans trading a 3rd for Mallet due to Obrien coaching him while at New England.

The point you're trying to spin is completely irrelevant.
It was always about Bridgewater for you. We can go back to any game day thread after a win and find dozens of posts where you soiled yourself over the win because we were taking ourselves out of the Bridgewater sweepstakes. We can find dozens and possibly HUNDREDS of obsessive posts talking about how smart Houston was to tank for Teddy.
Lie as you must to make yourself feel like you've proven something here.

Why does anyone argue with TMD? The guy talks out of his [BLEEP]. He will never admit he is a [BLEEP] half-wit so arguing with him is pointless. TMD won't have some epiphany where he ceases to be a douche so all efforts to make him do so are wasted. Just ignore him..

I still maintain that Mallett will not see success in Texas.

The Mallet trade rumors have been swirling for 2 years. I'll believe it when I see it

I shouldn't be surprised.
Some of you simply will never admit anything.
