Quote:Barr would be a perfect LEO fit, he's just as explosive as Bruce Irvin, I think Barr might be a little bit bigger too. He has the explosion and hip bend to wreak havoc at that position.
Yep, the Mack booster bus might kick and scream, but you're right with the above.
Quote:Bridge won't be around at 10, but I'd gladly take the above if he somehow is.
If the experts are right, he'll be there.
To be clear, you're not an expert.
Quote:Yep, the Mack booster bus might kick and scream, but you're right with the above.
He's just a bit raw in his assortment of pass rush and counter moves, like most DE/OLB's coming out of college. The LEO position is about getting up field and bending your hips, Barr does that as well as anyone in this draft, he'll learn pass rush and counter moves.
Quote:You guys really think the Lions are gonna give us their next year first? lol
No...but stranger things have happened.
Detroit has to meet two standards:
1. They have to offer enough to make it worth our while to trade down to 10;
2. They have to outbid Buffalo, who has superior draft position.
Detroit has two more picks in this draft than Buffalo.
I could see a 1, 2, and a 4, or an exchange of a 3 and a 5 to do it.

I aim higher than the next Bruce Irvin

That's way more realistic

Why not? If they want to move up to 3 for a player we could just as easily draft for ourselves, they have to make it lucrative enough to make it worth the Jags while. If you look at the draft value board, that's not unreasonable to expect an additional first round pick as part of the compensation.

Aren't you like 40 years old and you talk like this? You are allowed to act like an adult and contribute in an actual conversation.

Anything is possible, especially for a team that obviously feels it's close enough to winning, to warrant moving up in the draft to select a player they feel will get them over the edge. The Jaguars are in a position of power, if the Lions/Bills don't pony up a signifcant offer, we'll just take Mack/Watkins ourselves.
Quote:I aim higher than the next Bruce Irvin
I believe Bruce Irvin was taken 12th overall, most feel Bar has a higher ceiling than Irvin. You'd have to take him at 10 because the Titans (who switched to a 3-4) would definitely be market for him at 11.

The Dolphins only gave their first and a second to Oakland last year for Dion Jordan (from #12 to #3).
The Lions won't give us their 2015 first, not gonna happen.
A 1, 2, and a 3 would be nice.
That would give us 2 second round picks. 2 3rd round picks, 2 4th round picks, 3 5th round picks, and 2 6th round picks.
With that, we'd have plenty of ammunition to trade back up into the first round, if needed.

You're not trading for the pick, you're trading for the player, most would agree that Watkins/Mack are significantly better prospects than Dion Jordan, that will drive the price up itself.
I think Barr has the look of a classic slider. He is a great athlete but is so raw. I think the Jaguars are looking for immediate starters. Impact players on day one. That's not Barr.

But the available talent dictates demand.
The top of the draft last year was horrible.
This draft is loaded.
Watkins is a much better prospect than Dion Jordan was last year.
Heck, Jordan might have been drafted in the teens this year.
Quote:Yep, the Mack booster bus might kick and scream, but you're right with the above.
God, this line is so overused at this point. Because you like prospects that definitely means you will kick and scream if you don't get him.
I like Barr, but he is ridiculously raw. He is in no way shape or form near Mack at this point.

Again, not gonna happen, we won't get 2 1st and a second.
Quote:And that was a bad draft
Yeah, but this draft is very deep.

I think it depends upon what you want in the player.
If you want a good all around LB-take Mack.
I think if you want more of the pure pass rusher-take Barr.
