Quote:What more do people expect from Malik? He has played very solid. Worth 90 million? Probably not, but he has played here just like how he did in Denver.

Dave Caldwell knew he would have missed out on Malik Jackson if he did not overpay the man. He was right: Jackson said later he chose Jacksonville for the money. I don't think he is worth $90 million either but loved the signing because it was an upgrade at a position of need. Plus unlike Cowboys DL he has never failed a drug test in the NFL.

Quote:I see what you are saying, but Fowler had zero flashes of being a dominant force on the Dline. As far as AR. He was either a one hit wonder, a whiney baby bc he couldn't get open, or lazy/upset with Blake bc he wax trash. I think it's a combination of all 3 scenarios.

Allen Robinson is not a one-hit wonder. He showed us he is a stud soon after Blake Bortles became the starter if not at the same time.
Quote:Rashean Mathis was on the downside of his career. Mike Mularkey demoted him to nickel back. I was glad he got a second chance with the Lions (aka Jacksonville North at the time).

A CBS commentator said Telvin Smith was picked late in the draft because he weighed only 200 pounds. I don't know what his projection would have been if he was 50 pounds heavier, but he definitely plays like someone who should have been picked much earlier.

The only issue I can see in our 2016 personnel decisions by Caldwell is the offensive line. Why do we still have guys who can't run block?

After suffering a torn ACL I understand why the Jaguars moved on from Rashean Mathis,  especially in a complete rebuild.   But Mathis proved he had plenty left in the tank the following two seasons and was far from a disaster on the field in his final 7 games of his NFL career before a concussion landed him on I.R.

Telvin Smith was undersized for a 4-3 Weakside LB Prospect but I recall his weight being listed around 218 pounds.   Smith wouldn't be as effective if he played at 250.   His game seems build on speed,  quickness, explosion,  instincts, and passion.

The one thing in particular on the 2016 Jaguars Offensive Line that Dave Caldwell probably would like back is how the LG position was addressed.
Left guard will certainly be a top priority - hopefully in both free agency and the draft if possible because we have no depth. I also want to see him bring in competition for right tackle.

Quote:I totally disagree that AR was a miss as a late second round pick. Teams have been abusing him this season because they seem to know the refs are going to let them. He's still a top WR. Last year people all over were dissing TY Hilton, but just look at him this year. And yes I'm totally comparing AR to TY who I truly feel can be just as good.
Thats so true. Sometimes he doesnt even bother to complain to the refs because he knows it will go nowhere. And I think teams as a whole play us a little dirty knowing the flags wont be thrown.

I would be shocked if the Jaguars don't bring in viable competition at RT.   Having said that,  going into the 2016 season,  it looked like at least a solid position for the Jaguars from a starter standpoint.   Probably more than that.

I have been wondering if Jermey Parnell is a bad RT or just having a bad year. O am I underrating him?

The Jaguars should now assume the worst and hope for the best.

And try to be the best.
I couldn't help but lol when MJD said you have 3 years to show who you are. After 3 years, that's who you are. Which is true.

Then you fast forward 30 seconds and the host calls Fowler a bust LOL. Guy hasn't even finished his first season. Talk about an idiot host.

On a different note though, MJD is packing on those pounds. Guy is looking like a DT sitting there.

I have been saying this about Fowler. It is stupid to call someone a bust when he has only played 14 games. Even worse, the idiot host said this about a guy who spent all last year rehabbing a torn ACL.

When a player retires, it is pretty easy to get out of football shape and gain weight.

He's not horrible and will school a scrub, however, he's merely a borderline starter in this league at RT. I'd love to see him stick around as the backup with a pro bowl caliber RT starting.

I think Arob is good just hes not as fast as Hilton and teams are getting away with mugging him this year.

Unlike Hilton, Robinson could actually jump for the ball and catch in double coverage last year.

Hilton and Robinson are nothing alike and shouldn't be compared together.

Hilton is 5'9, 180 pounds and wins with speed. Robinson is 6'2, 220 pounds and wins with his vertical/catch radius.

Their skill sets couldn't be any farther apart. Two completely different type of receivers.
I know Monroe is retired now, but have we really recovered from letting him go? We brought in a first round bust, what a wasted pick, and have re-shuffled the line ever since on the left side. You do not let Good Left tackles just walk, haven't we seen enough scubs to realize good ones are rare and valuable? Smith could have played a couple more years but his leaving didn't have the impact Monroe did. We didn't waste a number one on a MLB. While I understand the arguments that he would not resign, I heard we never tried. That was possibly Caldwell's first bungle.

I'm talking overall caliber.

We didn't?

Keep in mind the Jaguars got a 4th and a 5th round pick in 2014 for Monroe. That 4th round pick became Aaron Colvin, and that 5th round pick became Chris Smith.

What are you talking about? I said we shouldn't have let a a good left tackle go, which is what Mojo said as well, and your response makes no sense with the question mark.

If you are stating we did not let a good left tackle go, then end the sentence with a period.
