Quote:Allen will be picked up.  He was a good LB.  Just got shuffled out with Geno coming in last year.

Only thing I noticed is it said he has not been cleared from the concussion he suffered in December. That could make his future a little dicey.
A guy has to do right by his future. The writing is on the wall that his concussion is pretty serious. Time to put that San Diego State degree to good use.

Quote:All of you saying "Welcome Khalil Mack" do realise Mack is a pass rusher right? He wouldn't play LB for us we're not a 3-4 defense. He'd in the LEO spot.
Khalil Mack can play many LB positions, He can play inside in a 3-4 or 4-3 or outside in a 3-4 or 4-3

Or blurry
Great guy, average player.

Wish him the best.  He's already been blessed with more than he could have asked for, so hopefully things will continue to work out for him.

Quote:I think that if you are absolutely convinced that this means anything about their draft plans, it would likely mean Van Noy more than Mack.

I honestly think the Jaguars are narrowing down on Van Noy.  They had an entire Senior Bowl week to meet with him and then they parade in 10 early first rounders for visits and Van Noy.  When I watched the Senior Bowl, I couldn't help but take notice in Babich's very close attention to Van Noy.  Van Noy was the one player that was getting coached up by the Jags staff after every drill.

Van Noy in RD2? That's the only way this team gets him. #3 overall is reaching. It's possible he gets picked up towards the bottom of RD1 though. I could easily see a team like San Francisco taking him at that point on day one, especially with the current issues that Aldon Smith has been having off the field. Denver and Seattle should also be having that conversation on day one as well.

If we could somehow maybe trade out with a team like DET, who has just recently raised some eyebrows with bringing in Clowney and Watkins, then yeah, maybe get an extra 2ND RD pick, pick-up the 10th slot in RD1, and potentially even trade back some more. Van Noy would then make some sense.

Of course in RD2.
Quote:MACK would be an Perfect Fittment... ;-)

NH3...
You still have not learned to use A and AN correctly in a sentence I see. Sorry...Pet peeve.
Hopefully Shazier falls to us in the 2nd.

I didn't think anyone could think I meant #3 overall.  Yes, round 2.  And yes there is a chance he goes before our pick there.  If he's there - I think there's a very strong possibility that we draft him unless some top talent takes a dramatic fall.

B. The guy is talented enough to play either LB in a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme, as well as a pass rusher. Some of the guys traits are his speed and coverage ability. He very much could play LB for this team.
And that would be pretty much a waste of his talents to play him at OLB in a 4-3 defense. The guy needs to be going after opposing QBs. Wanna throw him in as a LB on some plays? Sure. Starting OLB? No way.

One thing is for sure, it would be difficult not to bring home a terrific player with this pick.  I'd take Fuller, Van Noy, Moncrief, or perhaps the right S or RT if they fall.  I still think it will be a little high to take a G or C, though.  QB, RB... it will hard to imagine we can't find a very good player at almost any position.

That's where I'd like us to look at someone like Howard Jones in the later rounds.

Let him play on ST and bring him in as a rush OLB on special packages for a couple years, and maybe he eventually earns a starting job.

I don't know much about him, but yes I wouldn't mind us taking a LB that can be versatile like Mack, but not with the #3 pick. Only way I want Mack is if he's rushing the passer 90% of the time.

You may be right. However, the coaches have said otherwise, and say he could play multiple roles. This time of year, that doesn't mean much either though. It's one of those things that we just won't know until we see how it all shakes out.

I think Xavier Sua-Filo would be a great pick in the 2nd round as well.  He fits this team well and is a playmaker at guard.  I haven't seen anything where the Jags have expressed any real interest in him, however.

I have no doubt we're interested in him, but not as an OLB. DE/Leo whatever you wanna call it he's going to rush the passer.

That's no reach; it's a space station.

Dang! Poor guy.

I hope he was good with his money.

A. Realise is the correct spelling
