Manziel chances of getting a season ending injury triples facing Watt and Clowney 2 times a season

Quote:... do you believe it changes the Jaguars value of Manziel given you would have to face a defense led by Watts and Clowney twice a year?
No.
It makes drafting Jake Matthews a more likely option.

Same could be said about Bridgewater.

Quote:No.Draft another Tackle, 2 straights years. This team is going nowhere with blue-chip offensive lineman and avg to below avg skill players.

If Clowney goes #1, Jags need Manziel.. If not, Jags need Clowney..

I would hope the texans drafting someone wouldnt effect the Jags draft board other than crossing off a guy that has been drafted already

Your not a part of any brigade.. Logan Thomas hahahahaha

If we dont take Teddy in the first my next choice would be to take a flier on Logan in the 3rd or 4th. Yeah he needs a lot of work but any QB which lasts until the 3rd is there for a reason. Might as well take one with huge upside.

I'd be stunned if we drafted Matthews at 3 unless Joeckel's injury is worse than we know.
If Clowney is gone, I imagine Waktins or Mack will be our pick at 3. There is also the possibility of a trade down. If we fell to lets say 7-10, obviously Mack or Watkins if still available, but then a guy like Matthews becomes more of a possibility if still available. Evans or Ebron possibilities.
Clowney is in a tier by himself.
Then the next tier seems to be Mack, Watkins, Robsinon, and Matthews. And maybe one of the QBs if you happen to be enamored with them.

You draft a tackle to deal with that. It's not that difficult to understand. You don't draft a QB who isn't worth the 3 spot in the draft. An argument can be made that Matthews is a good fit at #3, especially if you're looking at Watt/Clowney twice a year.

I don't think Joeckel's injury has anything to do with that decision. If Clowney is gone, and he goes to Houston, you have to take that into consideration when you're picking. Ideally, you'd want to trade down, but if you can't find a partner, you've got to make a decision. I'd be looking at plugging in a tackle to book end with Joeckel for the next 5 or more years and call it a day.
