Plus you will thank him for improving the talent board.
Clearly someone has missed their meds.
Hearing voices, imagining things. November wasn't kind to you, take it? Reality crushing you?
We're making the same mistakes. Over, and over, and over...
Just like the ancient story of Sisyphus, king of Ephyra.
We'll just keep rolling that boulder up the hill 'till we get it one day.
Quote:You might want to spend some time watching our 2015 offense and 2016 defense sometime. Dave Caldwell was never the problem.
He being Gus in that bolded comment.
Dave was a problem when he selected Gus, Gus then hired poor assistants over and over. Dave has made some questionable draft choices as well. It looks like he's going to get a chance to fix this but he has some work to do.
I'm just glad I'm not the lone bad guy. I have never said a bad word about Gus. The only thing I've ever judged him on was his job performance. I really don't get why fans are made to feel bad about this. It's funny because I remember more vitriol for Del Rio and he actually had "some" success here at least. Is it all because Gus is a "nice guy"? So Del Rio and Smith weren't "nice guys"? I've never heard anyone say Mularkey was mean and he only got 1 years worth of opportunity. At least Gus was given more than enough time and resources to turn things around. I don't know, it just seems as though after reading the last two Ozone's us fans have wronged Gus some how for being excited about the change and a chance for success after for years of none. I can see if it were the Giants forcing out TC after he had won them 2 Superbowls but 14 and 48?
Quote:Gene is in a league of his own. Shack had some hits. Dave is not that great. He's made a lot of transactions in four years and the only benefit I can give him so far are the WR's and Linder. Other moves may be to early to tell. But he's also missed on possibly 3 of 4 first rounders. That's not a good trend. Dave has been able to bring in a few high free agents but his refusal to sore up the trenches has cost this team severely.
Look far beyond the first round picks.
Round 2: Jonathan Cyprien (best safety in a long time)
Round 2: Marqise Lee (team's leading receiver in 2016)
Round 2: Allen Robinson (best WR since Jimmy Smith)
Round 5: Telvin Smith (playing far above pick number)
Round 3: Yannick Ngakoue (upgrade at Leo position)
Round 2: Myles Jack (should have more playing time)
And if you still want to complain about the first round . . .
YOU CAN'T FORGET JALEN RAMSEY!
Oh, and what about that undrafted player, Allen Hurns? He quickly proved to be a stud.

I've never seen a coach more endeared and protected through the media for nothing than Gus Bradley.

It is not being a "nice guy" that people criticize Gus Bradley for, but the fact that he lacked discipline. Gus did not want to make his players mad at him.
I wanted him to succeed so badly. I loved the way he carried himself. I disliked how some of the journalists talked to him in press conferences, with no respect, probably because of how nice he was. Gus is a good man and I really hope he has a major splash of success with someone else

Me too. I loved the fact that he was a "players coach" and thought he was the right man for creating a winning culture. It is a shame he could not get the job done.
Thanks for nothing. Lets hope you never coach a team of mine again (looking at you, Florida DC position).

You gotta be thankful for the 14 wins.
I agree. Gus is a great guy. And was a good D coach before coming here. Here's wishing him happiness and success in the next stop in his career.
Quote:Gus by all accounts was a great guy, did great work in our community, and came in here to a less than desirable situation and gave it his all. He fell right in line with all our previous coaches, poor play at QB. Ultimately got him canned. He's received a ton of hate from the fans, but you can't blame him for giving it his all. He gave everything he had to turn this team around, it just didn't work out. Hate to see a good guy get fired, but it was necessary. Thanks for the great effort here Gus, hopefully you find success moving forward.
Quote:Hey TealTerror, read what I wrote. I totally believe his firing was necessary.
There's no logic or reason that will defend you to hateful idiots. They will continue being [BLEEP]hats. Good post and thanks for trying to start a positive thread.

This reminds me of the pre-dinner prayer in the movie "Shenandoah"
Dear Gus, we thank you for the 14 wins. Sure, anyone else (including random fans) could have been in your position and probably done the same or better, but we thank you for the wins nonetheless. Amen.
I'd say at this point he's relieved that its all over. The writing was on the wall after the Titans game. Every week must of been hell for him waiting to get the sack.

I think I found my new sig
Quote:No.
Jaguars fans want to win every week so there is no reason not to be.

Don't pick that one. The guy who won 14 games is not in Jacksonville anymore.

No.
He is a nice guy but poor coach. He took on a situation and he wasn't any good at it while us fans showed up to the stadium on Sundays to support him he let us down.
If you buy tickets for the movies and the acting is terrible are you going to be thankful for a scene?

When Gus is your coach, even when you win, you lose.
Literally the worst coach of all time.
Literally.
