Quote:So I can't put "we should be thankful for the 14 wins Gus got" as my signature?
I'm bummed
It should be a more general statement about appreciating every win we get. Something like:
Be happy when the Jaguars win and appreciate it.
I just watched his little presser thing and I have to agree. He's a good dude and I can see why everyone likes him. But he's just not a HC; that's obvious. Maybe he'll upgrade after dropping back down into the assistant mix. I hope he gets offers and can get back into the positive fold. But I do think he was fired a few years late. Best of luck to him.

Impossible. He was only here a few years.
MJF, geez enough with the wordsmithing my god!

Gus by all accounts seems like a genuine person. But he didn't put an emphasis on winning. He seemed to be stuck in an assistance role with the Head coach title. He never evolved as a coach.

Since when is 4 a few? Isn't that the equivalent of half the four?
Quote:I loved everything about 1999 until the 3rd Titans Game in the North End Zone. Man the tale of two halves. Walking out of that stadium on that day, you could really feel the window slammed shut.
The good ole days of being sick to your stomach because of 1 play here or there. Now, I don't even look at the standings after September.

I think he's a guy you definitely want on your staff. Just not HC ready.
Screw that guy.. Glad he's gone..
I just dropped in to let everyone know a secret: Gus Bradley is a good nice guy. I know it doesn't get said enough and most of you didn't know it but the secret is out now.
He came in, worked hard, and really competed (to use his own words.) Wasn't his fault he was hired too soon or kept too long. Whatever the issue was, it was never addressed by his superiors effectively.
Some organizations develop their ee's, others don't. They simply expect performance without cultivating it. No rookie coach is "ready." They have mentors to help them grow with the team.
It was obvious in so many ways growth wasn't happening on the field or on the sidelines. That's the root of the problem, Gus or otherwise.

1 2 3 4
Since when is 4 not a few?

That is not a secret. Everyone knows he is a nice guy. The problem is everyone knows being nice does not translate to being a good coach.
Thanks for winning 14 out of 62 games. Really makes me appreciate the del rio era
Many times when one gets fired they end up on their feet in a better situation. Don't feel bad for the guy. He's going to eat a little crow (don't do it MJF, it's a figure of speech) but he has a lot of earning potential left in his life.

Quote:You gotta be thankful for the 14 wins.
Well then how do we gotta feel about the 48 losses?
Quote:Thank you Blaine Gabbert. He tried.
This.
Also, a huge thank you to Gene Smith, who tried as well.
Justin Blackmon gets a big thank you too, for his 93 receptions.

No I don't and you can't make me.
Quote:Impossible. He was only here a few years.
Is this serious? Do not answer that.
He should have been fired after year 2 at the latest.
That is 2 years ago.
2 is a few. None of this is impossible and I find it unbelievable that you don't see that.

Yes, thank you Blaine for those 5 Jaguar wins you got us.
Also, someone remind me about this when Henne is finally released and I will thank him for his 5 Jaguar wins too.
