He is a nice guy but poor coach. He took on a situation and he wasn't any good at it while us fans showed up to the stadium on Sundays to support him he let us down.
If you buy tickets for the movies and the acting is terrible are you going to be thankful for a scene?
I will say it again: JAGUARS FANS ALWAYS WANT TO WIN. Therefore it is impossible to be a Jaguars fan and not appreciate the 14 wins.

When your steak is on-time, but it looks like a hockey puck, do you thank the waiter for binging it to you?
Quote:Don't pick that one. The guy who won 14 games is not in Jacksonville anymore.
So I can't put "we should be thankful for the 14 wins Gus got" as my signature?
I'm bummed
I don't post to much any more, call it aging if you will. I always hate to see people fired, I always remember these are real people with real lives.
It was obvious it had to be done, but I agree, Thanks for the work Gus. I hope and suspect you will find sustained success elsewhere and we'll all wonder what happened.

Don't feel too bad. He is going to get a few million just for sitting on his butt eating ice cream next year if he wants.
Whether you are making $2 or $2 million dollars being fired from a job you put everything into sucks.
I know to most of us just having $2 million dollars would seem like something that you'd give up everything for, but for people who play in that pool of money, getting fired hurts, no matter the salary.
The human emotion generally is concerned over more than money.
Thanx Gus. Sorry it didnt work out.
Sean Peyton = Superbowl!!!
Why would I, as a fan, thank him? We was a terrible coach.
Seemed like a good guy. But what do I care?
I'll wish him well in his future endeavors. I'm sure he'll wind up somewhere else making a good living.
But to thank him? Heck no. I appreciate nothing from his time here as coach. Hit the bricks, Gus. Good luck in the future.
I will say this, Gus was an easy guy to cheer for, I mean up until last season when you realized he was a big part of the problem.
Much success to him in his future endeavors
For what? Nothing football related.
You thank him because he gave it his all and really really wanted to turn the Jags into a winner. He put it all out there. And he's a human being like the rest of us, and he just got fired. I appreciate his attempt, I mean, it's not like he wanted this to happen. So yes, I thank him because I'm not a heartless prick like this world is so full of.

What heck are you talking about? I do not appreciate the 14 wins. Its pathetic. To top it off, most of the 14 wins were garbage wins.

He's not like the rest of us.
He just made millions of dollars. I think him and his family will be just fine. So yes, he is human but he's not like the rest of us.
He was terrible at his job and he got fired. Why should we thank him? Should we thank everyone who sucks at their job and gets fired?
Gus is such a loser he even lost out on Myles Garrett. Thanks Gus.
This thread sums up what is wrong with this country. How does knowing Gus deserved to be fired at the end of 2015 somehow make you a hater? This isn't some rabid mob camping out at the guys house or threatening his kids. Discor and discernment are missing in a FAN Team board. You know so what if I'm emotional for the one of two areas of my life that is a release from pressure of work and life.
No one on this board knows me outside of fun in jest comments on a Football forum. And I'm sorry the guy is set for life for barely winning what he is paid to do. In his personal life, I'm glad he is a great guy and that will put many blessings in his life. But he is not a good Head Coach and never proved that he could even put together a coherent game plan.
Have you been watching since Hackett took over? They decided to "minimize" Bortles mistakes and hope the resurgent defense that up till yesterday couldn't produce turnovers could somehow win the day. Year one with the decision to eject everyone with locker room leadership except Poz the team played the best. You can spin stats and drive yourself crazy this is an absolutely horrendous 4 years of football. I know the front office didn't hold the first two years in account of their decision but they should have. The RED flags were everywhere because the team didn't improve week to week.
Quote:Dave Caldwell did not expect Gus Bradley to be a different coach. He wanted the team to attract UFAs who might be scared off by the idea of playing for a lame duck coach and give Bradley a chance to win with a talented roster. I spent three years telling you all it is unfair to judge a coach whose roster is in full rebuild mode and lacking a lot of talent. There was no disservice. Bradley is still getting paid by he Jaguars.
The "poor QB play" is only correct this season. It was great last year. It was up and down in 2014 because Blake Bortles was going through the normal rookie growing pains with other rookies on offense.
Your first comment would make sense if I was questioning why they extended his contract, but I didn't. Caldwell brought Gus back when he already had one of the worst win loss records in NFL history. One can only assume that Caldwell was expecting Bradley to start winning which clearly he didn't, which is I said what I did.
And the "poor QB play" would definitely apply for 3 or the 4 last years which is why he record was so bad.
Thank you Blaine Gabbert. He tried.

Yep --- 1999 sure was a great season.

I loved everything about 1999 until the 3rd Titans Game in the North End Zone. Man the tale of two halves. Walking out of that stadium on that day, you could really feel the window slammed shut.
