We just lost out on Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Alex Mack.

Will we ever recover?..........

Youtube: Select the 'share' tab then copy the link it presents.

We will probably pick up one of the veteran centers still on the market, sign them to a try out deal, and then maybe get another one in the draft.

If it's from youtube, just cut and paste the link.  And it works like magic.

Bummer that we didn't get Mack.  Still, I like that the Brownies got stuck paying the highest price for a center ever in the history of time rather than us.  We'll figure something out; I don't think our current starter is on the roster.  Let's hope Caldwell can work some magic come draft day.

Thanks guys, finally figured it out in the booze thread.

You know your team doesn't have a QB when paying a Center $8m is not an issue.

Would be nice to get him, but when do you select him?

It's very dangerous having a need like we do and having only a few players capable of adequately filling that position.  I feel that we will reach for a C and a RG this draft.
Mack would have been nice but think of the bright side... we saved a lot of money by not pulling him away. He's a good player but have confidence we will find someone to fill the role eventually. We do need an interior boost to the line but there's always the draft/supplemental draft.

We had the guts to try!  That is a win !!!!!!!  Caldwell is my hero !!

We were so close to championship, but now we lose forever

I'm guessing both of our Rd 4 picks will go C/RG back to back.

That or we might reach for a guy in the 3rd if he has a high grade.

damn... i got rick rolled. It's been a while.
It's just back to the same plan we had before this whole Mack thing came up isn't it ?

The only problem is that we need a centre in the draft now, but I think we might have picked one anyway. Third round too soon to go looking for one ?
Forfeit.

Quote:With Alex Mack gone, where does this leave us?  Do you expect Caldwell to sign some other free agent or will it strictly be the draft now?

I think it's obvious we don't think Brewster or anyone on the roster is the Center for us....  This leaves us with 2 glaring holes on our offensive line.  If we go into the draft with 2 huge holes, I think you will see us reaching for some "starters" in round 2-4 to fill those positions up, possibly leaving playmaking WRs on the board in the process.

It really sucks Cleveland matched.

I don't know if it's obvious that the Jags don't think Brewster or anyone else can do the job at Center... I think it had to do with the chance of getting one of the top 4-5 Centers in the NFL and a Pro Bowl Center at that... those types of players doesn't come along every day...
This is going to come across as philosophical but whatever; with any endeavor, failure must be considered.

That doesn't mean you're happy with it, just that you have prepared yourself if things don't work out as you have planned. Maybe I'm simply optimistic, but I kinda think that Caldwell and Co. have already thought this out and have known what the next move is before they even wrote that offer sheet. It's just good business.

Now, as far as the fanbase goes? We'll probably just go back to debating Clowney vs Bridgewater ad nauseam. So in that vein, I give you this!
