Quote:Retaining Caldwell is a laughable mistake. Don't understand the owners thought process at all here, the GM has been nearly as bad as the coaching here.

Wake me up in 3 years.

Same stuff, different Dave.  Scapegoats and Teflon for everyone.

A real argument could be made that with better coaching the players would be better. There were a lot of players that showed promise only to fall off the cliff the next year and that speaks to coaching more then drafting.

Whine, whine, whine.

A real argument can be made that Dave had a large hand in hiring that coach, and that he busted on 3 straight top 5 picks, as well as well over 100 million bucks worth of free agents that are largely not worth it.

The guy is in over his head, so was Gus, and I can't believe we're not going to formally rid ourselves of every person and process that led us to our worst 4 years in our history. It's a mistake.

Didn't they just fire the HC?

Snappy one liner!

According to Dave it was a vote by Him, Khan, Tony and Lamping to hire Gus so you can`t put that all on him.

Again how much of those players not panning out is on Gus? We won`t know that until next year.

Sure I can agree with that. Crap rolls downhill though in my eyes, and since Khan and Tony can't get fired, I'll blame the next best fire-able dude.

If Dave voted yes on Gus, that's enough of an indictment for me.
It's pretty simple.  The problem is either the players or the coach.  Caldwell picked both.  Either way, it's his fault.

Keep in mind that this isn't a case where he hired a coach, quickly realized his mistake, and then corrected it.  If Gus is really as incredibly incompetent as people on here suggest, why did it take nearly four years for Caldwell to realize it?  Taking that long to realize it would make Caldwell incompetent.  If he's so clueless, why would we trust him to pick the next coach!?!?!?!

Here's another thought that I haven't seen anyone mention.  The Caldwell/Bradley regime won 4 games in Year One and 2 games (through 14) in Year Two.  If we have far more talent in Year 4, why are we winning FEWER games?  It's the same coach.  It says to me that the level of talent on this team hasn't improved nearly as much as some people on here have deluded themselves into believing.
