as a prospect because i just don't see it. All i keep hearing from everyone is the reason why not to take the QB at 3 because he isn't an Andrew Luck type prospect but Sammy Watkins isn't any of those elite guys as far as a talent and people keep clamoring for him at the same slot. He's a bigger version of desean jackson and that doesn't warrant the #3 pick overall but i guess everyone is so anti-quarterback that any player is a better pick than them. I don't get it.
Has anyone compared him to AJ Green or Megatron as a prospect? I haven't heard anyone say that. I think that's a bit of a reach to put it lightly. That being said, I wouldn't mind if we grabbed him depending on how things fell.
I think you are underselling Watkins. He is a great prospect. Runs very good routes, good hands, great athleticism and elusive once he gets the ball
I'm still team teddy though.

First off, i didn't say that anyone made those comparisons but i'm just making the analogy that if he's not one of them as far as talent in a deep receiver draft why pick him at #3. If he is worth a selection at #3 why not the qb deserve the same consideration?
Well there isn't a Luck or a Megatron in this draft. But somebody has to be picked third. Clowney is the only elite player in the draft. But he has work ethic questions Luck and Megatron didn't have.
Watkins isn't at the level of those you mentioned because he doesn't have their size.
He has better hands than Calvin/Green that's for sure.

so you never watched him as a freshman at Clemson. This dude has been good since the day he stepped on the field for Clemson.

Umm.. He is the best WR to come out of the draft since AJ Green, and there is a very good possibility he goes Top 5. I don't think you know how good he really is.
<p style="font-size:1.3em;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">NFL Films senior producer Greg Cosell watches a lot of football film.
<p style="font-size:1.3em;color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So when he says Sammy Watkins could be the best receiving prospect since A.J. Green and Julio Jones, it's something that will catch your attention.

Why can't Sammy be considered elite? Because he isn't 6'5"? You wouldn't take a Jimmy Smith type player with the number 3 pick?

You don't get it? Have you watched him play? He's every bit the elite prospect that Green and Jones were.
Ok, so he's not Calvin Johnson, who is likely the greatest wide receiver prospect in league history.
Sammy reminds me of josh gordon who runs like a rb.

I assume you've watched him play before. What is not to like?
He is as good as Julio. Megatron? No. Nobody will be as good as Megatron probably for a very long time.
I think he is Percy Harvin with better receiving skills. Worthy of a 3 pick imo.

Ya that is pretty much it. He doesnt have the height of the top guys in the league.

He's not short. He's still 6'1. He reminds me alot of Torry Holt.

Bingo. I think Harvin is more 'violent' with the ball in his hands than Watkins is, but Watkins is the better Receiver.

Ya I know but he isnt tall like AJ, mega, fitz

False.

Green and Fitzgerald are 2 inches taller and Watkins is faster. I see Watkins as more of a Torry Holt/Tim Brown type.
Lets not even bring Johnson into the conversation. He's a freak of nature like the NFL has never seen and probably never will see.
