Haven't seen anyone mention it, but Manziel's Gruden camp was on tonight also. My question: for anyone who flipped and wanted Manziel after his good pro day, do you conversely flip back because he was subpar tonight in the classroom w/ Gruden? He was a fish out of water breaking down his own plays/reads/progressions and even worse trying to draw things on the white board. Does that matter to anyone else?

To me that means way more than the pro day (although it is still just a small piece itself). We have tons of videos to break down how Manziel can throw, we don't get many opportunities to see what goes on in the meetings that the players will have with the teams. Gruden's camp isn't perfect but it actually is the closest we'll get to seeing that.

So for the overall day should we be higher or lower than we were beforehand? The true answer is neither of course, but I know that opinions change like the wind here so I'm interested to see what others think.

He must not have been that bad on the show because Gruden gives Manziel a ringing endorsement:

But look at the OP's avatar lol, all you need to know
I think it comes down to coaching.  Neither QB this year has the hype that previous top picks typically have but when it comes to play i think he has the advantage.  He played better competition and when coached up, i believe he can use his "it" factor to help his maturity even more.  TB, for examples, is miles ahead on the white board but when it comes to using that knowledge on the fly, he failed against subpar competition more so.  Conferences don't matter but i'll take the kid with more room to grow and potentially can be TB smart with his own skillset.  Could you imagine JFF with TB intelligence on the field.  It wouldn't even be fair but yet because of knowledge TB is considered the better prospect.

Gruden winds up liking every QB every time, and I'm specifically talking about the awkward white board and video break down portions of the episode not the whole thing.

Has Gruden ever not given someone a ringing endorsement? As smart as the man is with QBs, if he really called it like he saw it with every prospect who walked in, he'd have a hard time getting people to sit down with him. Not a shot at Booziel, just a statement of fact.

This again? You've been on here long enough to know that I am unbiased in my evaluations...and I said at the end neither his good pro day or bad classroom changed my opinion at all. I have been done w/ my QB evaluations several weeks.
Haven't watched it yet, recorded it. When is the next Gruden camp, and who btw?

Yeah I will have to watch it next time it comes on to see how lost he was.  Watching the sweet 16 waiting on my Gator game.

This we can agree on. Go Gators!

I'm sure teams have been beating down your door for them, too.
The team drafting him will meet with him privately and will determine his whiteboard smarts and his ability to learn quickly.

Teams drafting him will believe that he has passed their test adequately.

Much ado about nothing.
lol I was thinking the same thing when he posted this.  Didnt Cam set the rookie passing record?
I agree there are concerns with his understanding of the right reads. This  has been my main concern about him for a while now. He makes poor reads and runs when he shouldnt. Those type of mistakes can hurt a team in the most inopportune time. Ive watched video of Johnny in the pocket with guys wide open and he wont make the throw so he takes off running...not good.

Manziel also struggles against fast defenses like Florida and LSU but played well vs the Bigger defenses like Bama...

While he was very impressive today and would certainy excite this fan base, he does need to answer questions in person.

What are you talking about? He was fine on the show.

Yeah in what way was he a "fish out of water" I mean I have never played QB so I cant say I know what is impressive or not when one gets on the blackboard, but he didnt seem like he blatantly failed anything. I really couldnt care less about a TV show anyway. Seems to me he only really spent time breaking down one concept.

Prove it, back it up with evidence. Florida was his first game on the college level and he was injured during the LSU game.

Wow, touchy arent we. Thank you for telling me Florida was his first game...whats your point, they are still fast defenses.

Not sure how im supposed to find film from two months ago but I can try...Have you watched him play at all? He takes off running all the time...
