Mack looks like the top choice, or trade back

I can dig it

Would like to have Teddy though

If we stay at 3 I don's see us drafting anyone other than Clowney, Mack, or Watkins.  My question is if Clowney is off the board and Mack and Watkins are both still on the board, who do you think Dave would choose?  Mack or Watkins?

If the goal of drafting Mack is for him to be used primarily as a pass rusher then you take him without question. A good pass rusher is a premium in this league.

Mack.  We need a pass rusher more than a WR.,.....,,,,,a lot more.

I wouldnt say a lot more.
You dont take a QB for the hell of it you have to truly believe in the QB that your choosing which in this case our front office doesnt believe in any of these 1st round QBs.

There gonna take a player they know is worth the pick and can be a franchise player for us.

Quote:I'm ok with the above.  Given Blackmon's return is looking more bleak (as I understand he is not returning the coaches texts), Watkins may be the pick.

I've not read anywhere he is not returning their texts. From what I've read, it is directly contrary to this, given they are only allowed limited contact.
Quote:At this point, anyone who thinks we are drafting a QB at 3 is just fooling themselves. It's going to be Mack, Clowney or Watkins I believe. Trade down might also happen but I have a feeling the Rams will be the ones trading down after someone gives up a ransom for Clowney.

1. Bortles

2. Clowney

3. Mack
My thoughts exactly.

The only QB I think they might even consider at #3 is Bortles, and he will probably be gone to Houston at #1.
Jaguars have not really had a great QB since Mark Brunell came in the 1990's. So yeah Khan, go for it!

If they draft a QB with the number three overall selection it will be Johnny Manziel. Not Bortles, and not Bridgewater. I don't think they're going QB with this selection though. I think it's Clowney, Watkins, and Mack in that order. If they go QB it'll be in RD2, and it'll either be Jimmy Garropolo, Derek Carr, or A.J McCarron. They could probably hold it even further and take a kid like Tahj Boyd or Zack Mettenberg in RD3.

So if dave caldwell draft a qb with the 2nd round pick and he's a bust it damage his credibility as a gm as well because high draft picks are a premium. Ya'll fan needs to stop drafting scared and get the qb at 3 and take the same approach as if you draft him later on in the process. I'll rather have teddy bridgewater, brotles, or manziel as far as talent instead of back up qb aj McCarrons, Gabbert's cousin Jimmy Garropolo who plays just like him, or any other garbage qb later on in the draft.

I agree with this. Seems people get so caught up in how other teams obtain successful qbs in later rounds and dont realize that later rnd qb are not always guranteed. We need to get the best qb talent available at pick #3..

Problem is, there's no QB worth taking in this draft at #3.  You'd be selecting the "best" of the worst, which aren't very different than the rest of the QBs that will go in later rounds.
Jon Gruden has a man crush on Derek Carr.  He even says Carr is number one overall pick material.

A value franchise QB! Amazing, where do you get those from?

1st round QBs an absolute sure thing.

-Blain Bartholomew Gabbert (former Jaguars great)
