Quote:Oh.  There's an option?     In that case, I'm not Sammy.  He's out of my league.

There are several viable options for slipper placement...Sammy knows them all!!
I've lived in JAX since 2005 and vacationed here for a good decade before that but still haven't been to Beach Road Chicken. This thread inspired me. Other than peas or chicken, what's a good suggestion?

Poe's Tavern or The Blind Rabbit at Jax Beach....both have weird, but amazing burgers. And the bar is great too!

Havana Jax on Beach-

It is the best Cuban Restaurant in the Southeast.

Just talking with Miguel and you see his passion for great homestyle Cuban food.

The BEST in the SE??  I've been there and it was great so...I won't contest that assertion.  You'd think the best would be in Miami somewhere.

Yes..while Havana Jax is really good...it can't touch the places in South Florida!

Can't believe I forgot this place. The brisket is to die for. The Sweets shop is awesome too.

FYI Beach Road has been in the Teal Deals that past few years. Love that place.
Good thread. I'm looking to go to Jacksonville to see a home game or two this year and I definitely want to do and see some things that aren't really Jags related.

From metrojacksonville.com - local butcher shops.

1) Beaches Road Chicken Dinners on Atlantic Blvd (all the sides you can handle + 1/2 a chicken)

What is road chicken? If its what it sounds like, I'll pass.
WHen I first opened this thread I assumed this was the name of a new beer.

I'll have to try and go to some of these places when I get down to the area.

Love this thread!!! Thanks to Vicbow Rules for starting it and everyone who contributed to it. This will be invaluable for us British fans who are planning a trip to see the Jaguars in their real home. (probably week 14 of the season if the is a home game that week)

I have made a similar topic but the other way around, offering advice for US Jaguars fans that may be visiting London for the Cowboys @ Jaguars game:

Beach Road Chicken is named so because it is on the road that leads out to the beaches...not because it's road kill!!
