Quote:Beach Road Chicken is named so because it is on the road that leads out to the beaches...not because it's road kill!!
It was actually the ONLY road to the beach when it first opened..."<b>Welcome to Jacksonville's oldest restaurant!</b>

This hometown favorite has been in the same location since 1939 when Atlantic Blvd. was the only accessible road to the beach. Thus, the name Beach Road Chicken Dinners." http://www.beachroadchickendinners.com/about.php

and for the best fried shrimp in Jacksonville you have to visit Safe Harbor in Mayport I love it there.

This. A thousand times this. I don't know why O'steen's shrimp taste so much better, but they are easily the best fried shrimp I've ever had.

Yep!!
I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if anyone has hotels they recommend in the area? My wife and I are trying to plan to come out for my birthday for my first ever game in Jacksonville. Its going to be insane but if we can get it planned away we have a shot. So looking for hotels close by the bank. Is that a good idea? enough to see in that area? Thanks.
