Quote:Uche's contract averaged $4.2M/yr, with $9.5M in guarantees for a 6-year contract. And he was younger than Beadles is today, when that contract was signed.
Hopefully the guarantees in the Beadles contract are in the latter years of the contract in the form of roster bonuses.
Beadles is a MUCH better fit in the ZBS. I think you could ask just about anyone (besides TMD and a couple others on this board only) and they would say Beadles is a fairly solid upgrade over Uche. Beadles is viewed by most as an above average to good guard by most.
Quote:Well, it's pretty obvious the Gabbert trade is just about Caldwell's ego. I don't think I can support a GM who throws a talented, hard-working QB under the bus just for getting a couple of minor injuries.
Please take your support to San Fransissy then.

haha, Blaine Gabbert and Jonathan Martin will probably be best friends on the bench lol

That man is trolling hard.. maybe give him a cookie.
Quote:Charlie Casserly just stated on the NFL Network that the best signing today was Eugene Monroe.
Charlie is mad that the Jags didn't sign Michael Vick. NFL Network is ridiculous.
The Ravens did get a pretty good deal. In hindsight I would have been much happier with Monroe at 7M per year with Paztor at RT and Mingo at LEO instead of what we have now.

No you wouldn't you would still find a way to complain lol

Did you already forget how bad Monroe was at run blocking the 4 games he played for us?
He was not a good fit for the ZBS we were running.
Wait a couple of years before saying you'd rather have someone else.
Bingo might bust, you never know
As a newbie and knowing very little about the personnel of the Jags from the office on down to the field, at first glance anyways, it looks like Caldwell has a game plan to revitalize the offense (particularly the running game) so it can make defenses respect and hopefully open up the passing game as well. From what I can see, the moves he's made and will continue to make all seem to be in the right direction. It also looks to be a progressive advance to becoming a contender. Anyone who's looking for immediate results might be a tad bit dis-appointed. But, I can'ts see any reason not to be optimistic about what's going on here.

Lol I agree, nfl network just said he's perfect for the new zone blocking scheme the ravens will have next year
Monroe wasnt bad, but go ahead and keep on trying to convince yourselves otherwise.
Let pot roast walk. Wasnt a good move.
monroe was above average. I didnt mind trading him with luke here.
I dont like any of his offseason acquisitions though. Toby is just a guy, id rather draft an rb. 30m for beadles is not good. Red bryant signing is ok I guess.
Im fine with them sitting on the money but dont waste it on average players. This is a huge draft for caldwell. He doesnt have any dominant playmakers
Ya know, this looks like an excellent moderate FA haul to me, although I don't think Thurmond or Young have officially signed yet. Add Bryant to the list too he's not in town yet.

That has to be promising on the Young and Thurmond front, showing him around with the guys we just signed? lol. Please get it done.
This would be a very good FA.
Seems to have done a good job improving the roster and filling some holes while avoiding his predecessor's penchant for overpaying washed up vets. He still has a lot more work to do.

The roster is steadily getting better and deeper. No obvious blockbusters in FA, but I'm fine with that. Better to draft those guys anyway.
Bleacher report gave the Jaguars a "C" for Beadles signing. Just like Gene Smith, mediocrity.

Bleacher report sucks wouldn't really care what they think. Jags are still in Jacksonville and Tebow isn't lol
And Thurmond will not break the bank like Revis will. We have so many things that need fixed 15 million a year is way to much for a DB. Maybe once we get stronger a big money DB would make more sense.
