Quote:I don't see how he was the weakest link on their line when they went through 3 different centers as well as Clady's backup.

The weakest link is always the one that's no longer there.

I'm sure it makes the fans of that team sleep better telling themselves that.
Letting someone go isn't always about how good the player is.  It's frequently about the money.

Didn't go through 3 Centers, Manny Ramirez started all 16 games.  He was also Pr Football Focus' 2nd team Center at the midway point and had a very good season.  Chris Clark also played well all year and Vasquez was an all-pro.  Beadles is a good player, but he was the worst OL we had last year.  https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/20...ankings/4/

Still sting from that Super Bowl drubbing, but I can assure you Broncos fans have overall slept pretty well since 1977.

Broncos fan...^^^ but I'm sure will get flamed as being inaccurate, lol

Not sure what you mean,  I'm trying to be very accurate and showing unbiased viewpoints from respected sources that agree with me.  Beadles is a good signing for you guys and is an upgrade for you, but the consensus opinion around football is that he was our weakest link.

What I mean is some people on here will flame you for saying that Beadles is the weakest link of the Broncos. Some around here don't like objectivity.

Some around here like to puff up their opinion of themselves on just about any topic, confusing opinion with fact, and throwing so much negativity at the wall in hopes that something will stick.  When it occasionally does, those same people nearly snap their spine trying to pat themselves on the back.  When they're wrong, the crickets chirp with glee.

The weakest link on the top rated offensive line in the NFL last year is an upgrade over what we had here in Jacksonville no matter how you try to spin it.

There's something to be said about someone who constantly seeks solace with fans of teams other than the Jaguars (especially our rivals...)  More in common with them, than us.

I swear I remember them putting one or two on IR around June...If not, then my bad.

I don't know if I believe those rankings, though.  They say Uche performed better than him.

It's been said time and again, they mostly just make up their observations.  They have no clue what the assignment was or whether or not the player actually did their job.

Excuse me if I shrug my shoulders at the Broncos being labeled the "top rated" O-Line in the NFL last year....I have been consistent with my stance that OL's who block for QB like Peyton Manning and Dan Marino - or any in the future that block for a QB that is one of the best in the league at getting rid of the ball quickly, will be overrated.

I don't seek solace with fans of the opposition. Its just sad that they seem to be more level headed on football opinions. I bash opposing fans too when they lose objectivity as well.

Granted, I didn't just stare at Beadles every game, but what you say almost makes more sense than what I read.
Quote:Zane was the weakest link on the Broncos line, but it is a great line, He is a good G IMO.  If they thought he was all that great they wouldn't have let him go.  Either way, I see him as an upgrade for you guys and just a fantastic guy to have in the locker room and in your community.  I hate to see him go.

That is incorrect actually. Teams can't keep every good player that comes onto a team, especially when you have guys like Julius Thomas, Demaryius Thomas, Von Miller, etc. that are going to need long term deals soon. Peyton Manning said Zane Beadles was one of the smartest offensive lineman he has ever known. Every Broncos fan i've talked to has said the guy is a very good guard.

Regardless, like I said, you can't keep every player that works out great and sign them long term at the same time, that's how teams get into cap hell. Luckily for us, Beadles was the odd man out. Just because they'd rather keep the guys stated above doesn't mean much to me, because the guys I named I view as pretty great players in the league right now.
Gave up 2 sacks in pass protection in the last 2 years. Obviously, "overrated, the weakest link".

Beadles not only a great addition to our line, a good person for our community.. seems like a really level headed dude.

<span style="font-family:arial;">If you take a closer look at the Denver offensive line, LT Ryan Clady, C Manny Ramirez, RG Louis Vasquez, & RT Orlando Franklin have played at all pro levels over the past year/year and a half,  you can argue some of that can be contributed to Peyton Manning, but those guys are all really good football players in themselves. Denver has arguably the best offensive line in football when healthy, so it's no slight for one to say Zane Beadles was their weakest link, he's still a good football player and is a definite upgrade on our offensive line.

Alex Gibbs was a consultant for their O-Line. That alone guarantees they were a top O-Line.
