Quote:Wut?

You fail to consider the facts.

Babin said he was willing to take less money to stay here. Now, he's G-O-N-E. He is a free agent and unlikely to ever play another snap for the Jaguars. As others state, his decision to void his deal means he was one step ahead of being cut by the franchise front office. He is now a free agent. The comprehensible fact is he is no longer a Jaguar.

A nice way to save face is to ignore what just happened and claim the door is open. A few days later and it all blows over real nice-like.

The facts are:

When the Jaguars were reaching the AFC Title game in the mid to late 1990s guys like Jason Babin were the norm here. Now they are the exception.

Babin lived up to his contract. He was productive and gave us a reminder of how it used to be. He has provided us a reminder of what a real NFL player is. We felt honored that he was here to play for us.

Wish Jason the best, but understand this simply is the same slashing action the Team Gene Regime used to create the problem (when there really wasn't one) in order to justify the solution they though they had figured out.
Are you too stupid to realize that it was Babin who was the one who chose to make the break? Apparently so. You're going to look even more stupid if he re-signs for less. (And you looking more stupid than you already do on a daily basis is going to be a tough one)
Quote:Yeah, a productive asset trashed and tossed because he makes too much money. Funny we never seem to know what market value across the league is.

The Econo-Jaguars strike again!

You wonder why nobody wants to play here? You wonder why we've got six consecutive non-winning seasons? We're running a chain gang, that's why.

We were told the culture needs changing. What we see is the same old Econo-Jaguars.

Free agents beware! Free agents beware!

Terrible troll. Yesterday on and on about Red not producing sacks (comical) and today harping on a move that likely preempts us resigning the player at a greatly reduced salary, which if you had followed Babin's earlier comments about returning was plain to see. 3/10 on the troll.
Quote:LOL.  Just stop.

He lived up to about 30% of his contract and committed a ghastly number of unforced errors in the process.  You should watch a Jaguars football game sometime.

He'd be good rotation at LEO if they bring him back at 2mil per year.  ....and they might.

You prove the point exactly. Nobody wants to come to a team that hovers over their play like judge, jury and executioner. It may look smart, but people on the outside are not impressed with it, and who wants to sign a deal to enter a snake pit?

The culture from the Team Gene Regime still remains in place and it controls the past, present and future of Jaguars' football.

Pretty much. When a dude makes idiots like Tommy and Solid Snake look good, you know it's really pathetic.

You obviously have zero clue what's happening.  HE VOIDED HIS OWN CONTRACT BECAUSE HE"S  BEING OVERPAID AND THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THE JAGS OR ANYONE ELSE WOULD REMOTELY CONSIDER KEEPING OR SIGNING HIM.

Just let that sink in.

Your lame delusions about this regime doing anything like the previous one are absolutely idiotic and blind to reality.  Take your meds.
Decent player but was overpaid.  He will be turning 34.  If anything I expect the Jags or any other team to sign him for a 2 year deal at most. The difference being market value

We shall see. Tomorrow contracts rarely get signed.

I don't think he's coming back. I also believe hovering over players and what's in their wallets is the exact thing free agents try to avoid. It is also the sort of decline you expect to see as a franchise sinks lower and lower like a ship that just hit an iceberg.

We need guys like Babin a lot more than they need us.

Remember Jason is not 4-12 now, the Jaguars are.

There's a small chance that he will return, but more likely he'll get a deal from a franchise with more class.

I can't understand the people on this board saying anyone is over payed. Jags are 60 million under the cap, and people think they can get a free agent below the going rate, last year they had money and didn't spend it on players and got there as--s kicked. I hope your happy attending games knowing the players are under payed and Jags are selling 10 dollar beers and 200 dollar tickets.

Econo-Jaguars!

But we used to have a good team!

Maybe Khan should just cash out? The game is way over his head.

Fan me with palm leaves and keep feeding me grapes! Oh, yeah. Go team!

Great point.  Let's get rid of all the coaches; they're just wasted money.  Players can just show up on Sunday and do their thing.  Who cares if it's a late hit and a 15 yard penalty; any fan who fails to applaud every stupid mistake will be promptly removed from the stadium.
By the way he was on Phillys contract.

That's true.

Now, now.

Remember he voided his deal just so he can play for less and read this abuse!

Funny how not a word is said about the opposing defenders that knock the snot out of Jaguars' quarterbacks fifty times a year for the past two years! That's just a bad quarterback! Who needs offensive linemen with talent?

Can't you come up with something better than that?
I think it's mostly likely the Jaguars are just willing to let other teams do the negotiations for them.
For once, Babin jumping first is a good thing.
Evidently Babin was informed that his future w/the Jaguars wasn't promised so he decided not to wait and see by opting out... I feel that we can upgrade the position w/youthism...

NH3...
Quote:Will we all laugh when Babin re-signs with the team?

That would be nice for the standpoint of being a mentor such as Henne but the Youth Movement must continue...

Not really.
