Quote:Geeezusss. Relax. Most teams still prefer to groom a rookie QB. There isn't a Luck in this draft. The majority are not ready for the transition. It ruined Gabbert. Luck looked like a rookie many times. RG didn't fare as well as Rouge Epidermis team would have liked.

The top 3 QBs are no where near NFL ready. That is why.

IF for the unlikely scenario the team drafts Johnny, then maybe. He can use his mobility, wereas the others would get killed with this line, doing to their timing no favors.

Playoffs this year are a reach. The FO is in no hurry. The Colts and Texans, who will rebound, are ahead of us.

My two cents.

Get ready to be flame broiled like one of TMD's Double Whoppers.. You may have upset some fanboi's with your two cents..
This fan base, many of whom post here, sure is into self-pity.

Where did Caldwell or Bradley say anything in the least way that was surprising?

Caldwell has been talking for months about re-signing Henne, but we get to see some of you post the obligatory "woe is me!".

And you're surprised that the veteran will be #1 on the depth chart at the beginning of OTAs and can be expected to start the season - when whomever is drafted has never played a down in the NFL? Really?

I would be more worried if Bradley had said anything else. I like the fact that he's being straight with us - instead of saying something that might be a phony attempt to sell a few season tickets.

Rouge Epidermis. Good one - hadn't heard that one.

That was funny to you? To each his own I suppose.

The funny thing about Winger always lazily using that tired old Whopper line is that judging from his picture (if that is his picture), he easily weighs more than I do. I'm not heavy, as a matter of fact I'm almost perfect proportion for my height regarding body weight.

Wow, way to stay on topic
You guys read and over react more than any fan base I know.
Bradley is just putting out smoke-screens.  I wouldn't look much into this.

Chad Henne will probably start the first couple weeks but looking at his contract he will be getting paid more based on starting. Not sure if this is normal in QB contracts but this may give a new QB some time before they start. It wasn't like we overpaid for him either. Think of it like Cameron Bradfield and Sam Young signings. They are decent starters if they have to be, but they are back ups. I still believe we will get a QB in the first 3 rounds that will develop and possibly start if Henne were to struggle.

If we sign a QB in the first I hope its Bridgewater. If we sign a QB in the 2nd round- Garapollo or Manziel (Yes i believe he falls) in the 3rd round- Murrey, McCarren, Mettenburger.

Good Signing Dave. Henne is the insurance. Hopefully we can trade Gabbert for something. I wish him the best, but he needs a new start away from the shattered past he has here.

Glad to hear it, thanks for letting me know.

You might not be heavy but judging by your profile picture (if that is really you) you look eerily similar to Animal from the Muppets. Just sayin

I agree with this part of your post, with the exception of thinking Manziel falls that far. He won't.

haha yes as you look like Fez from that 70's show :teehee:

Probably not. But who knows. If Carr goes before Manziel then GM's and scouts must be thinking he is not starting material.
Quote:Leftwich was scheduled to be the starter too...

So was Garrard...

Matt Flynn was signed to be Seattle's starter too...Until the rookie beat him out.
Dont forget Oakland as well.
This pretty much signals to me that we will not be drafting a QB in the first few rounds instead he plans on building the rest of the team first. Apparently there is a belief that the faster way to build a sustainable team is to build the rest of the team first and grab a QB when the timing is right.

Regards.....................the Chiefjag

For those complaining here, I have a question.

How many GM's or coaches would say- "We are bringing Henne back to be a backup to a qb we have not yet drafted."?

Quote:Glad to hear it, thanks for letting me know.
All I can think of now is the "I pick things up and put them down" guy. LOL!
Why would we draft a QB at #3 and put our franchise in the hands of a guy with no interior o-line? To eat turf?

We have Joeckel and Pasztor. That's pretty much it right now. No center and we need 2 guards. But hey, lets draft a QB.

O god!! I am so tired of seeing Chad Henne start for my team.
