Surprised Hyde is the top back.

Quote:Surprised Hyde is the top back.

In every mock I read he has been listed as the first running back taken.
For all fans of Florida teams on this board:

Blake Bortles (UCF) is the #3 quarterback.

Kelvin Benjamin (FSU) is the #4 wide receiver.

Bryan Stork (FSU) is the #4 center.

Timmy Jernigan (FSU) is the #2 defensive tackle.

Dominique Easley (UF) is the #5 defensive tackle.

Lamarcus Joyner (FSU) is the #3 safety.

Scarecrow will love this one:

C.J. Fiedorowicz (Iowa) is the #5 tight end.

Sorry Carly, none of them are Badgers.

RB evaluations are all over the place in this draft, there's really no consensus when it comes to the top 5.

Seems to be very deep though. I could see us getting a starter in the 4th or 5th rounds.

Then why can't I find anybody saying Carlos Hyde is not a first round talent? I have not heard or read anything about him possibly dropping into the second round.
I'm surprised Ka'deem Carey didnt crack the top five. I'd take him over Andre Williams. I dont care how many yards Williams rushed for.

Maybe you don't know where to look

Would not be surprised if the team took a guy in the mid-rounds that ended up starter. I like Jeremy Hill and Kadeem Carey.

probably because you're not looking hard enough, Hyde might end up being the best RB in the draft, but Mayock is probably the only one that I've seen rank him #1

Sure I do - at the mocks on NFL.com, of course. And they all have Carlos Hyde going in the first round.

He is not. I can't remember who, but someone else said he is better than Eddie Lacy.

he's not the only one that I saw rank Hyde as the #1 RB? how do you know this?

nfl.com is probably the last place to look for mock drafts

NFL.com is probably the last place to look for mock drafts

NFL.com is where the experts who actually research draft prospects and know what to look for write their mocks, so it is the first place to look at them.

I think anyone who tries to convince me otherwise is just a hater and wishes Carlos Hyde was not on the list because he is a Buckeye.

Hyde is ranked third by Rang and Brugler at CBS.  He's 2nd at DraftTek.

He's the top back on Daniel Jeremiah's and on Mayock's boards.

Draft countdown has him as the 8th best

He's the top back on Daniel Jeremiah's and on Mayock's boards.

So the people who don't list him first are not the draft analysts who actually research every prospect and have NFL experience.

Daniel Jeremiah is a former scout. Mike Mayock is a former player. They both spend a lot of time learning everything about draft prospects and work at the Senior Bowl (I know Mayock couldn't this year, but he usually does) and the Scouting Combine. So I will trust their judgment when they disagree with somebody on a TV network.

Link?

i typically follow Mayocks rankings but you just never know who will fail at the next level or surprise. But he's insights are ones i typically enjoy reading/listening to or whatever.

Every guy has their own list and they're all different. I like Hyde a lot, I also like Sankey, and Terrance West.
