"He's going to be a bust, out of the league in a couple years."
"Had a DUI"
"Tested positive for an illegal substance"
"Red flags"
"Off the field trouble"
"Likes other guys"
Is the last one a reference to Michael Sam? I hope not because nobody is saying that about him.

Blackmon?
Very fluid action.
Makes the play look effortless.
Quote:Blackmon?
Blackmon is not a bust. When he gets sober he will show everybody why draft experts said he is almost elite.

I'm sorry but right now he IS a bust. He has the potential to change that but as of RIGHT NOW he is the definition of bust.

Bust means he never lived up to his potential. Justin Blackmon has shown flashes of his ability and earned a starting job. He will do it again after he gets sober.

By your own definition he's a bust.
1) Has he lived up to his potential?
No.
2) Can live up to his potential?
Unknown.
As of today Blackmon is a bust.
Every black Tight End is 'athletically gifted'
Every white Defensive End is 'blue-collar'
What I am saying is the only thing stopping him is alcohol, so he will live up to his potential as soon as he gets sober.
Every white defensive player is "stiff in the hips"
"natural bend"
"he's relentless"
"he's great inside a phonebooth" Yes JW, google it. Mayock uses this description.
"barrel chested"
"he's compact"
"explosive through the hips"
"stretch the defense guy"
My favorite, not really used often but used by Warren Sapp when describing Sheldon Richardson last year,
"He doesn't jump off the screen like turd in a punchbowl"

Great inside a phone booth? That is crazy. Those things are extinct now with the proliferation of cell phones (although pay phones still exist in buildings). You would think Mayock thought of something else a player looks great in.
Warren Sapp had a pretty creative one.
Quote:He will be a ten year starter.
I freaking hate that one!

Meaning that he may not be great in space but has and holds his position against the rush, as if he's in a phone booth. Usually describing a non pulling guard. I knew you'd comment on it, lol. I wanted to be ready.

What would be a better, more modern phrase? Great inside a SMART car?

That's hilarious. Made me blurt out a Lol.

Inside an Airplane bathroom?
