Quote:Nope, it's a 48% bust rate for top 10 QBs, and a 53% bust rate for top 10 DE. There was some kind of cut off I'm sure but it went back like 30 years. I think it was since the combine started in 1982.
Your numbers are wrong. They covered it on the Jaguar radio show the last week or two.
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Jacksonville higher than most on Teddy Bridgewater, A.J. McCarron, and Jimmy Garoppolo. McCarron now off their board. Bridgewater still the only QB with a first round grade on their board. Requested Garoppolo to the Senior Bowl over Savage.
Minnesota likes the mobile QBs. Big into Hundley and Mariota before they went back. Already set up a meeting with Tajh Boyd in NYC. Might be in play for Manziel if Cleveland doesn't take him?
Brett Smith has connections to both Oakland and Tampa Bay's QB coaches. Recruiting coordinator from Wyoming is now at Tampa Bay (also recruited David Fales), and Oakland's QB coach originally had Smith committed to San Jose State. Jeff Tedford was at Oregon when Brett Smith's father, Kevin, was playing football for the Ducks.
BOB might actually like Bortles, but he also touted Mallett to those around him at Penn State.
Mettenberger is an interesting prospect. It's not out yet, but Cosell really likes him.
San Diego like Wenning, who is kind of like Rivers himself.
Multiple teams DQing Fales off the board for multiple reasons. Hand size, height, arm, mobility, and character. Character not bad, but he's a "thinker" in the way he apparently treats others. Has some of the "I'm better than you" attributes. Offensive line apparently hated him. An agent who recruits SJSU told me he wouldn't touch him in October for several reasons, including what type of a guy he was.
Some think that Carr has a character red because he spends too much time with his family and not in the film room.

Where are you getting this exactly?
Quote:Where are you getting this exactly?
A guy connected with scouts throughout NFL, directly from him.

Possible, but I doubt it considering the noise coming Houston about wanting Manziel or Bortles.
Multiple scouts have indicated that Bridgewater had the only 1st round grade amongst qbs
And Fales does seem to be a bit of a problem
Raiders have also indicated Bridgewater would be the only qb they would take in the 1st
I think we're all going to be pleasently suprised how far back the Qb's fall after Bridgwater is taken. If we're the ones that dont' take him in the second i bet we get Bortles Manzeil or Carr in the second/third rounders or we wait even further and take someone in the 4th/5th.... The more uncertainty i see in the QB rankings the more i Think it's going to be like last year, Where multiple people are projected high just because of the Need for a QB and the Media likes to mock QB's early, but they aren't taken there because GM's know that they aren't worth the selection.

This^
Its a combination a combination of the 2011 and 2013
You have one guy that sticks out as a 1st round grade franchise qb and then you have everyone else. There is a lot of talent at other positions in this draft, no reason to gamble on a qb

If Bortles fell to the 2nd round, then I'd be fine with waiting.
He won't. Manziel won't either. (I don't want him much, but if Caldwell likes him, I'd still be excited)
Really don't want Carr personally. Or any of the other QB's.

There are also multiple teams that dont think Teddy is a first round talent.

So if we draft Clowney and Teddy, Bortles, and Manziel are gone in the 2nd you dont want to draft a QB?

Very debatable to say to least.
1. Either it means no one else is
2. Smokescreen

Not in the 2nd. If Mettenberger hadn't torn his ACL then maybe him. I'd be okay with Fales in the later rounds, but would prefer if he wasn't the only QB picked.

Do you have more specifics than that...because I didn't hear that radio spot. Of course, who is a bust and who isn't a bust is subjective. Also. you simply said lineman in your post I copied where I said DE. So did their studies mean just dline or did that include oline too? I'm going to assume it didn't mean pass rushing LBs either. The article I read was very thorough and only covered DEs and obvious pass rushing LBs. I also trust the person who did the research wholly.
If I get bored later I might try to find the article again, but honestly I read so many darn draft related articles that I don't think I care to dig through so much to lay the sledgehammer down on someone who obviously doesn't care about facts (again).
