And who is going to run the ball for the Titans? From everything I've read Tennessee is not going to retain Chris Johnson. Whisenhunt had a problem establishing a main man running back while in Arizona.
It may take a while.
Whisenhunt has a 45-51 record as a head coach with a total of two winning seasons. OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

Caldwell made a Super Bowl too ftr. Sure it was with Peyton Manning, but Whisenhunt's was with Kurt Warner. And look at what Arian's has done in Zona'.

It's a good illustration of how important it is to have a high caliber QB in place. John Fox certainly looks like a much better Head Coach with Peyton Manning as his starting QB than was the case in the Carolina Panthers 2-14 season, back in 2010.

Considering everything that transpired the last couple of days with Ken Whisenhunt ending up in Tennessee instead of Detroit, it's good to read another perspective about Whisenhunt as a Head Coach.
While Whisenhunt could end up having major success in Tennessee, the only realistic way this will happen is if that franchise gets their QB situation stabilized in a meaningful positive way.

one thing is for sure, if you don't have at least an average QB you don't stand a chance in this league, that's why I don't understand why some were so frustrated with Fisch

He didn't have an average QB, OL, receivers or RB for much of the time here.
I'm still willing to see what he can do with more talent at his disposal.

With all that said, he was very creative and somehow made the worst offense in the league slightly intriguing. I can't wait to see where he'll take us.
Whiz just admitted on NFL Network that he doesn't know a lot about Jake Locker, yet he accepted the job. Clearly, there has to be some other incentives -- $$$ -- for him to accept the job in Tenn over Detroit.

I was skeptical about Fisch until after the Rams game.
Alfie broke down the coaches film and showed how receivers were wide open through the Rams secondary. There were a lot of yards and points left on the field against a pretty good defense.
We just didn't have guys who could execute the plan.
Later in the year, we got glimpses of what could happen when the team is comfortable with the scheme. I can only imagine how it will be with better talent (dang it Blackmon...stay your butt on the field and out of trouble/suspension!!!).

me too, thought he did just OK with talent that we had, but too hard to tell when talent is lacking to this extent

Wow. the NFL must really want the Jaguars to fail in Jax. This AFC South between Luck, O Brien and now Whisenhunt is like a murderers row. It might be setting up for the best those 3 franchises have ever been "simultaneously" in the history of the AFC South.
