Quote:Simple things that people should know you might have learned the hard way.

I'll start with a simple one I learned today;

when replacing a sinks garbage disposal make sure you remove the drain plug on the inside of the disposals discharge line, or else your dishwasher will fill up and overflow..........

At least you figured this out before you bought the new Dish Washer Kitchen.

It went down like this:

Disposal goes out.

Install a new one.

Dishwasher died instantly, so being Mr. Fix it I replaced it with a new one (all on my own ... both of them). (stupid plug ... who knew it was there, am I right?)

Now after 4 months of picking out new appliances to match the new Dishwasher, I now have a Kitchen that will probably leave me for a better Chef. Sad

All that because they didn't put a big orange idiot tag stating there was a plug in the dishwasher port for you people too poor to employ a Dishwasher. :blink:

I may be in the market for a new Dishwasher soon. Tongue

PS, If I am, I will bring a lawsuit claiming that little black plastic plug caused me irreparable harm. Banana

Your stove is already cheating on you...I didn't want to be the one to tell you, but I thought you needed to know!!
The "pull out method" does NOT work. Stick to the "put away till marriage" method.

I wouldn't know I'm usually sleep by 8 to avoid the nagging.
I'll second the 401k match comment. If you're not putting in the amount that's getting you the maximum company match, you're doing yourself and your future a disservice. It's one of the only risk-free returns you'll ever be presented with, so take advantage of it. If you're stretched thin and can't see yourself being able to afford it, I'd do some serious consideration on what your priorities are and make sure you're not choosing immediate gratification in some other aspect of life where you could be able to cut back to make those additional contributions to your 401k instead. It's that important, as is a firm understanding of the time value of money and compound interest.

You know? you should probably change your Avi if you want people to take you serious. ... For a moment, I got off track, and thought you were talking about a hooker.

Your Avi wasn't convincing me that you weren't. :wacko:

My wife's icy stare after I pretended to be sleep would do that.
