He can run, he can throw, and he is a leader. The Tebow comparisons are just plain stupid. He brings a whole nother dynamic to our offense. The other QB will go #1 overall to the Texans. The Rams can't afford another blown pick in round 1, so I hope they go with the top DE. And that leaves our guy ripe for the picking.

Rumors saying Texans really like Keenum, i dont believe they go QB.. Anyways after jags select a qb i wanna see them go RB get Gurley..

Face value, it sounds like him and Manziel are a great fit. But there's one other person's opinion that counts...and that's Gus. One of Bradley's keys to winning (and one we heard often enough during our winning streak vs when we lost games): Take the ball (on defense), and protect the ball (on offense).

 

Manziel's tendency is to take chances in order to make the big play, from his scramble out of the pocket to his deep sideline throws and heaves off his runs. This will make him susceptible to fumbles and interceptions in the NFL. I don't know how this will translate in the pros, but its hard for me to imagine that a coach who wants their offense to protect the football would be so approving of this kind of approach.

 

From Gus (and likely Caldwell's perspective given his pro career involved him in the drafting of Manning and Ryan), the better fit would be Bridgewater.

A few snaps into his career and he's broken, out for the season because he's puny...then what do you think about drafting an elite offensive tackle with the third pick?

I'm torn on Manziel. Like I said, his deep sideline throws are so pretty, and often he hits his WR in stride. With even stats backing up how accurate he is on 20+ throws, its hard to say its just pure luck. As far as "fixing" him, do you want to? Part of the intrigue in drafting Manziel is the magic that he brings to the table. To ask him to curtail that would make him more ordinary. I think if you take him, you take him for who he is.

 

You fix a bit of his footwork, teach him pro-style offense and reading coverages, but you don't chain him to the pocket.

 

You'd live and die with his play style.

Jedd's guy (Keenum) reminds me of Tebow.

The Texans are not going with Keenum as a full time starter next year unless injury to whatever QB the main guy is. Keenum is horrible.

I think with Bridgewater, there is more of an expectation to be elite, and if he isn't, it will really hurt our franchise.

 

With Manziel, the fact that people don't know what to expect, and his potential tremendous upside make him being not as good as expect not as bad as if Bridgewater is a bust.

Well, considering you quoted nothing and were vague in the post, the obvious assumption was that you were referring to what was most recently posted (being the Keenum stuff reported by "Yo Boy". and subsequent posts by RedSky & me on that topic )

I think if you use that pick and miss, it doesn't really matter who you took; you missed and it hurts just as badly for the team.
