Nothing screams FRANCHISE QB like flying down to Miami to meet with Drake and party after narrowly defeating a team you were favored to beat by 17.
So it's a) his fault his team's defense sucks and b ) something wrong with hanging with celebrities on your time off? His time is his time. His season is over and he showed nothing but improvement the entire season. Absolutely nothing concerning that I see.

Also, it's pretty clear they're at the studio in that pic. Didn't realize sitting in on a recording session made him saten.

Quote:So if Tuesday morning a picture of Jameis Winston with Lil Wayne or whoever else at a night club surfaced would that mean he's not a franchise qb?
Turn up!
So apparently when people want Manziel it's the same as the Tebowcult but all the Bridgewater bandwagoners from earlier in the season are better than the rest of us?

Of course not....he doesn't have an agenda against him.....whatever he can do to discredit Manziel or people who want him here.....problem is.....he's barking up the wrong tree.....he should go down to the stadium front office and convince Dave

The main reason I posted that was in response to the talk that he's some great guy who fits in with the Gus mantra. If anything he is just the opposite. I prefer a humble guy like Teddy, who comes from a meager background and has worked his way into being a near perfect prospect.
Quote:About the QB situation and our position in the draft? Do some of you think or have any reason to believe he'll (and also Gus) be high on Manziel, or will he go with the safer pick in Clowney or maybe Bortles/Bridgewater?
Excellent thread OP. Although I think you may have already answered your own question.

1)OPTION NUMBER 1-Go safe, draft Bridgewater, continue to progress.

Dave likes what he currently sees on the field. He is okay with the playbook and our offensive mindset is fine and dandy: but just feels that we could use a better QB at the helm. Perhaps one who protects the ball more, makes better decisions, someone we can trust. We get Bridgewater, and are the better for it.

THE GOOD NEWS

We finally have our franchise guy, and our future is more clear. We take a huge leap forwards in the rebuilding process. And with a few more pieces on both sides of the ball, the Jaguars with Teddy at the helm are a bonafied playoff contender(I would compare it to the Colts over the last few years).

THE BAD NEWS

Fans shouldn't flock to Everbank field looking for an entirely new Jaguars team. We already have a QB in Henne that has shown the ability to throw over 200-yards in NFL games. Teddy will be good, but he will be worked into our playbook, as opposed to us changing the entire thing to suit him. The 2014 Jaguars will look eerily similar to the 2013 Jaguars with a better Quarterback.

2)OPTION NUMBER 2-Bet the house, draft Manziel, hold on for the ride

That last loss of the season showed Dave just how far this team is off from being a real contender. This team does not just need a better QB, it's need a jolt in the arm to resucitate it. Gus' predecessor lasted all of a year in Jax. Khan wants wins and Khan wants money right now. This is not the time to be safe. We draft Manziel and never look back.

THE GOOD NEWS

Jag fans don't need any more stupid slogans like 'All In' or 'Stand United', because it's obvious from the very first game that this is an entirely different team. The offense is revolutionary, and cutting-edge, and new(think the Eagles). And the fans are talking playoffs are first year(much like Washington during RG3's rookie year). We are the most talked about, exciting team in the NFL, and the possibilities are literally limitless to where we can go.

THE BAD NEWS

Manziel is a firebrand. With him, you're betting the house, and seeing what turns up. Either Johnny makes Gus and Dave for life, one the smartest duos in the NFL, and not to mention 2 very-very rich men. Or the entire Manziel-experiment fails, everybody is fired, and the Jaguars left reeling 5-years from now. But that's life. The investments with the highest returns always comes with the highest risk.

Your move Dave.

I'm new here....was it this bad during the Leftwich vs. Garrard deal?
As much as I can envision the good he could do on the field, I would worry about what he does off the field every day. The primary trait Gus and Dave look for is passion for the game. Putting football above everything else. I don't know that Manziel is that guy. That's the thing that makes me think we won't draft him. Now Oakland.. that makes plenty of sense.

I doubt Dave will need convincing. Let's see spoiled brat who craves the spotlight and is vastly overrated and a product of surrounding talent or a young man from a humble background that has worked to perfect his craft using a combination of natural talent and football IQ to provide a better way for his family.
JohnnyJaguar, you may be taking things an eency wency bit too far.

You think? This is why I make the comparison to Tebow. People want him for the circus and media attention.

What are they doing with their fingers? Illuminati puppet dolls? Ninja
And you see that there's a clear difference between my evaluation of Manziel and his heads-over-heels infatuation, right?

You should have seen it just before the Tebow draft.

Ahhhhh.....you think the guy is a rich and spoiled brat......you're prejudiced against him and don't even know him......makes sense now

Really? Actually read my post and explain your comment.

Gave equal credit to Teddy and Johnny, as well as equal problems for each. Please critique, and tell me where I'm wrong.

It was worse much worse.

Yes. That's why I said earlier, if you feel he is a franchise QB, then you are just in wanting the Jags to take him. I don't think he's that and I don't think he has the love of the game to overcome his deficiencies and get to an elite level either. I think once you take a look at a few more cutups (particularly the ones I mentioned) you will begin to come around. For those of you that like Manziel's skill set, why not take a player like Bortles who is similar, with more polish, without the national circus?

Did you even read the post. It is just as much if not more pro-Bridgewater than Manziel. Please read and critique me where I'm wrong.
