Quote:I can understand that.  I am of the opinion that MJD has more in the tank than most people realize.  We'll see what happens next season, of course.  If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.  I just see MJD has still being much better than most, especially with a good offseason.  The key will be getting back to his playing weight of 3 seasons ago.

This is obviously my opinion, and I could be wrong.  I just have a feeling he's gonna have a break out year next year.  And no, I'm not his agent.

I hope your right, I'd like him to retire here after a great career (even if you are his agent).
As with any deal if the money is right I'm all for this.  I want Mojo to be a Jaguar but if a better opportunity comes along then I won't be upset and I'll wish him the best going forward.

A rational person on the Jags MB.... what is this???
He is out of gas.  Draft a RB.

A shifty big play guy is the trend for the NFL right now, but a hard-running bruiser is a good guy to have on the roster too - but they can be had late in the draft and UDFA, for league minimum.
Quote:Yeah, like clocking "hillbilly" at the Conch House? And holding out on a contract legally signed by him? Yep, real role model. With a user name such as yours I understand why you can be biased. Saying he'd like to finish in Jacksonville is merely player speak. He also said it's not in his control! Can you believe that too? He said it's in the control of his agent and the Jag organization. Well hello braniac, the agent works for you and you tell the agent what you will agree to, not the other way around.Regards................the Chiefjag

Yes I am a *MJD* fan but more importantly I'm a jaguars fan , I'm only assuming that MJD is a man of his word but it's been said he wants to stay. You can't read his mind and neither can I but we are on the outside looking in. We don't know how he truly feels but to say Mojo the face of jaguars doesn't care about the only pro team he's played for is just insane. I believe he wants to stay put.

Early indications are MJD wants a long-term contract & doesn't want to settle for a 2-year, incentive-laden deal

See ya!

My heart goes out for the guy because he did everything right; that is he put it all out there on the field & with the exception of the 1st year with the new owner he was the franchise spokesman saying the right things for them.  The problem is a running back's lifespan in league as far as revelant is a short one especially with his reoccuring injuries.  If he wants a long term contract I am sure they would support it as long as the salary wasnt crazy which I think it might be.  I want him to stay and retire here but based on all the talk over the years, I think he most likely will test the waters in free agency & leave the team.
Mojo wants to stay with the team, I think that the staff will sit down with him and come to an agreement on a new contract.

GO JAGS   STAND UNITED :pirate:  Wallbash  :verymad:

Is this news?

I had a feeling you weren't actually reporting that he got a new contract. Misleading title.

Mojo is one of my favoruite Jags ever, I will always proudly rock my #32.

However I wont be sorry if he goes, he just isn't a starter any more. If he is happy to be a backup and get backup money, it would be nice if he stays, but honestly I would quite like to see him go somewhere where he can be have a shot at a ring while getting 5-10 touches a game.

Mojo would still start for us. He still has some in the tank. He just wants to sign a long term deal that will be costly. If he could be convinced to sign a 2 or 3 year deal for maybe a few mill, he will be back
NoJo for MoJo.

Time to move on.

I would sign him if the price is right and have him groom his replacement like Fred did for him.
Should have traded him 2 years ago when we could have gotten at least a 4th for him. RB's not named Shady McCoy and AP are a dime a dozen.

Well.. looking at our offensive production in the run game I would say we need to spend at least a nickel this offseason.
No.
Some GM out there is going to cough up 5 or 6 mil for a 2 year contract with a 50% guarantee and MJD will jump on it and never look back IMO.

Hopefully Jones Drew returns.  He's not the back he once was ,but he's a great player to have.  Funny how time flies.  Jones Drew is now a mentor like Fred Taylor once was. Either way I'd like to see the Jags draft a RB.

APPARENTLY HIS OPPORTUNITY TO FISH AROUND THE LEAGUE FOR OFFERS MUST HAVE COME UP SHORT...SHOCKER
