This is why I don't want Carr
he was a day 2 pick had he declared last year but he improved leaps and bounds on his weaknesses from last season. lol at using outdated scouting reports.
Quote:How so? Or in your opinion what makes him a better prospect than Boyd?
He has a much stronger arm, is far more accurate in the short/intermediate ranges, he has better touch on fades and sidelines throws, and he is a good bit taller. Basically anything that has to do with actually throwing the football he is far better than Boyd.

Boyd is a little better in the pocket (but needs work too), and a little more athletic even though Carr is a solid athlete too. Carr also did just as much, or more, with far inferior weapons. Boyd was surrounded with insane weapons in Hopkins, Watkins, and Ellington. Carr of course has Adams who is very good but the rest of his supporting cast (especially oline) is horrible.

Carr also sounds more impressive in interviews and appears to have superlative leadership qualities, but it's hard to judge that and Boyd seems sufficient there too so I won't really give an intangibles point to either...but if I had to it would be Carr too.
I respect your views but I'm currently watching his game against Utah state and it's allot of them same thing I saw in the bowl game so far screens and lacks the ability to step up into the pocket when pressure is in his face

Stepping up in the pocket when pressure is in your face is kind of an oxymoron no?
Lol I mean coming off the edge any sort of pressure he folds and throws off his back foot or goes down like a girl
Like this offense is screen swing pass then shot down field allot of yac racking his numbers up but he does make a few nice throws not going to say he doesn't just can't see him being a franchise qb on the nfl

he played in a pro style offense in 2011, if you didnt know. he had good stats.
No I've read that believe me I'm doing allot of research on him not trying to be some guy talking out my a**
No one seems worthy of the number 3 pick....Best to use that for another position of need. But it is still December so things may change.

QB in the second or third and then another in the 6th.

My guess is boyd in the 3rd. He seems to have the athleticism and skill set that Jedd Fisch could build off of.

I agree

Yeah i know that's why I said it takes a different skill set to evaluate him. Those screens and swing passes I basically take out of the evaluation because they don't tell me anything as far as NFL translation goes. So I look at the traditional dropback downfield throws and he is awfully impressive in those. His footwork is much better and he steps into his throws with proper weight transfer and a quick, compact release...and the results are more often than not quite good too.

Again, I'm not saying his mechanics are perfect by any means, but his bad footwork habits are much more prevalent in the screens and swings. I don't have a problem overlooking those plays because it's coaching and playcalling more than the QBs fault.

Those are good points but as a whole based off of everything he has shown you where do you think he is worthy of getting drafted? I'm thinking late second early third is good value not three overall. Idk where you have him going

I think there is little chance he falls out of the top 10.

I'm with you there but disregard team needs with allot of teams in the top 10 needing a qb do you think he is worth a top 10 pick?

if gabbert, locker, tannehill are top 10 picks, i dont see why not Carr.

Why does he need to our pick though.....
Very true ok let me change my stance if we take Carr at 3 I will be livid lol
Actually If we take Carr in the first

not saying he needs to be, but if we go qb and teddy is off the board, i'd prefer it be Carr i think he has the highest ceiling in this class.

this. nothing impresses me about carr except his deep touch but that's only when he has all day. Honestly if you watch manziels worst game against lsu on draftbreakdown.com, he looks better than carr did in that utah state vid. I'm starting to think kyjaggy is extremely high..I'm jealous!
