Quote:He is very limited in range and is still very slow to react.

Yes, he does come up with a critical tip pass or tackle on a key down, but that is very rare.
I can't tell you how much I'd enjoy watching you try to run past him carrying a football! :woot:
Good thing Mincey was cut, he'd prolly still be asleep right now instead of out on the field warming up..

We'll see if JDR can get any more out of his tank.  My guess is he won't miss any more meetings this year.

Thanks to Jack, Mincey could fall [BLEEP]-backwards into a Super Bowl championship.  I'll chuckle if that comes about.  Smile

While he clearly wasn't meshing with the new Jags, Mincey never struck me as a bad guy.  I hope he catches on in Denver.

I'm puzzled how you think the leagues #2 defensive player could be the things you say?

Hasn't missed a game since he's been with the Jags.

This year - 139 tackles (105T/24Ast) , 2.5 Sacks,  11 PDef ,  2 Int, w/ 1 returned for a TD and a forced fumble.

Slow? No Range? Go to a game and you hear his name over and over and over. He gets it done.

Not to mention all the while being a leader and inspiration to this team.

Who would you replace him with? The guy the announcers couldn't shutup about when we played the 'horns Thursday...JJ Watt?....

Nope,  I wouldn't........ he's #88.

Most other LBs in the league would be praised for putting up that kinda statline.  13 total plays on the ball (11 pd / 2 ints) shows he has the range over the middle and thats not counting the times he has hit a receiver and forced a drop (i can think of at least 3 times he has done this) or filled a lane perfectly allowing another defender to make the tackle in the running game.

Poz needs to stay he is a leader and his work ethic is good for younger players to see and model after.

Glad he's gone if that's the attitude he had here.

Now that's impressive right there. I mean, I'm in Virginia and the only exposure to Bradley that I get is through a video monitor and I'm still inspired by the guy. MIncey must have been on cruise control ever since Gene Smith left.
I'd just like to point out that in the past Gene Smith was criticized for valuing good characters players, now Caldwell cuts a player for breaking team rules and he's praised for it. I find that interesting.

Caldwell is already, hands down, a better evaluation of talent than Scum Bucket could ever be. So his opinion is valued way more than Jerk Face's.. My opinion..

I find it pretty routine. You dont show up for work you get fired. There is a difference between choir boy softies like Britton and Gabbert who actually show up to team activites and work hard but play like little girls on sundays and guys who are just falt out hurting the locker room enviroment with poor work ethic , bad attitude towards coaches and a general sense of not caring about the orgnization (Mincey).

No one wanted a player who didnt wanna be here and brought a poor attitude to work.  What everyone wanted was a player who played with a mean streak on sundays and was willing to show some grit and nasty or even mix it up with opposing players to send a message we arent to be [BLEEP] with. Ya know a Mike Peterson ,John Henderson , Donovin Darius , MJD , Blackmon type (minus the drinking problem) of player who actually got fired up and was willing to be the hammer before the nail.

Classic example of completely misunderstanding what the philosophy was about. It wasn't about avoiding guys with a mean streak on the field, but rather the guys that couldn't stay out of trouble off the field. Guys like Reggie Williams getting caught with weed or Gerald Sensabaugh getting arrested THREE times and hurting the team in the process. Gene Smith's problem wasn't with the character of the players he signed or drafted but with the talent.

And on sidenote; all the players you named were signed or drafted when Gene Smith was a significant part of the team's front office.

"Choir boy softies" and "play like little girls". You don't have to be a psychologist to know when someone is overcompensating.

No wonder I see all those ads on TV for low testosterone.

I'm a little confused with your statement. Are you saying you wouldn't trade Poz for Watt?

If that is indeed what you're saying, thats just dumb.
Dumervil was released due to late paperwork and he may end up being replaced in part by a habitually late player.

I do wish Mincey the best in Denver.

Wasn't mincey playing as a dt or 5 tech de for us this year? Very different than dumervils role
It's his "bidness" Man! Laughing

Now if only JDR can get him to show up for team meetings.

It pretty simple, he had no position in the defensive scheme, big contract, and wasn't young. His behavior and demeanor prompted Gus and Dave to pull the trigger on the inevitable sooner than later
