Rex doesn't seem too happy with Tyrod at the moment and Tyrods salary goes from 2 million to 12 million next year. Perhaps a potential QB for us.

I'd love him here.
No. Let's find our own QB.
I'd be ok with it.
It's a $15.5 million team option for next year. I don't think it will be exercised, which would make him a free agent, but you never know. The tricky part with trying to sign a veteran bridge at the position is convincing a veteran good enough to sign here, even without a starting role guaranteed. I agree though, he would be a nice signing to buy a year or two.

If he signed here, he would start It would basically be like Beachum and Joekel this past off season.

I'm not sure Bortles has wasted his last chance though. Tyrod may be too accomplished a player to sign here. Ryan Fitzpatrick could be an option. Minus that two game implosion, he's been okay this year. Okay enough to sign as a stop-gap anyway.
Tyrod would be a huge upgrade.  That's more of a commentary on Blake than it is on TT.

Anyway, all snark aside, I'd be thrilled to have him for the right price.

Tyrod is a lower mid range NFL QB. I think if we wait until 2018, we can do much better.

Sure. $15 million is chump change for a QB. I'd offer him $20 mil a year and he'd still not even be top half paid QB.

I'm all for waiting until the 2018 draft to find a QB if a Bortles doesn't work out next year

Along with providing Blake Bortles some better short term competition in 2017,   what you mentioned makes a great amount of sense.

If Blake Bortles makes major strides forward in 2017,   the Jaguars should be in good shape at QB moving beyond that time.  If Bortles continues to struggle or doesn't display enough of the upside potential he demonstrated prior to 2016,   the Jaguars will likely be picking in the top half of the 1st Round in 2018.

In a few months,  there's a pretty good chance that Andrew Luck will no longer be the highest paid QB/ NFL player.
He would be better than what we got now

I agree he needs actual QB competition. Henne cannot provide that at all. I'm not sure what the FA QB market is this offseason though

Mike Glennon should be available but he probably will be able to command a command a contract from a team that expects him to be a starter.

Otherwise,  the open market options look limited.  Brian Hoyer,  if healthy,  might be one of the best options,  which is more of a reflection of the type of QBs that likely will be on the open market.
Hope Jags stay away from someone like Glennon if he's so good why did the Bucs draft another qb and isn't he not very mobile?

My take is the Bucs saw the opportunity to get a true potential difference maker with pick # 1.   Mike Glennon doesn't appear to be that type of player.  But in the right situation,  I think he could potentially be a future version of what Brad Johnson brought to the Bucs in the 2002 season.

No it wouldn't. We were always leaning toward starting Beachum at LT when he is cleared to play and the injury delayed Joeckel's move to LG. If we were to sign a veteran QB, it would be an open competition with Henne or Bortles.

Also, Mike Glennon is not a natural leader, which is one of the first traits Buccaneers coaches and players said about Winston. The only knock on Winston was crab legs.

Regarding your Brian Hoyer comment: I know what he is going through from personal experience and know he will be fine after the season is over. But would we really want an old player who had an up and down career, regardless of his comeback from injury?

Why isn't Mike Glennon a natural leader?

In order to answer the 2nd question,  what would be the Jaguars potential other options?
