What's up guys. I'm gonna try my hand at one of these. I've only really scouted the QBs in this draft, but I'll do my best. (order based off current rankings)

  1. Houston Texans- Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville (Obvious pick. They need a QB, and Teddy is a safe pick with a high floor)
  2. St. Louis Rams (via WASH)- Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA (Yes, Barr before Clowney. Rams have stud DEs and Barr is a phenomenal rush LB, which everyone wants nowadays.)
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State (Carr's game isn't as polished as Teddy's, but he has more physical tools. Phenomenal leader. Franchise caliber QB.)
  4. Minnesota Vikings- Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina (They need a QB, but no one is worth it here. Clowney is fantastic value at four. If he's here, maybe the Vikes trade down for a QB and a ton of picks)
  5. Atlanta Falcons- Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M (They don't have many holes, just a lot of injuries. Need to upgrade their trenches. Matthews is a great pick here.)
  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson (My first shocker pick. The Bucs don't necessarily have a WR need, but Watkins can be elite in this league, and it's always good to add weapons around a young quarterback.)
  7. Cleveland Browns- Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M (Boom. Top ten pick. The Browns have a solid team, and can be playoff contenders if they have a good QB. Here, they're either getting a great one or a bust. But it'll be exciting to pair him up with Gordon.)
  8. Oakland Raiders- Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame (Oakland should have taken Star last year. I was considering Mike Evans here, but they need interior D-line help, and Nix is a stud.)
  9. Buffalo Bills- HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama (I really wanted to slot Mack here, but the Bills need a safety since Byrd is probably gone soon. HaHa is far and away the best one in the class.)
  10. NY Jets- Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo (And so he comes off the board one slot later. Rex needs to rebuild his stable of pass rushers and Mack is explosive.)
  11. Tennessee Titans- Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan (The Tacks go O-Line once again. They're trying to get big, tough, and physical - that fits Lewan to a T.)
  12. NY Giants- Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama (The Giants need to protect Eli better. Cyrus has maybe the best potential in the class.)
  13. Pittsburgh Steelers- Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn (Really like this guy. Recruited as a guard, but is extremely athletic. They need to protect Ben.)
  14. St. Louis Rams- Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M (Rams would be soiling themselves with joy if they got this. Big possession WR to pair with their young speedster in Austin.)
  15. Green Bay Packers- Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech (Finley's been injured. Everyone loves having more receiving TEs. Amaro is the best in the class.)
  16. San Diego Chargers- Jason Verrett, CB, TCU (Their biggest need is cornerback. This is a relatively weak class, bit they get the best one.)
  17. Miami Dolphins- Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee (There's no WAY they go into next season without a tackle. Richardson is big and has good upside.)
  18. Chicago Bears- Ryan Shazier, OLB, Ohio State (Really like this kid. Pure explosion in the run and pass. They pair him with Jon Bostic and have a pair of excellent young linebackers.)
  19. Baltimore Ravens- Cyril Richardsn, G, Baylor (Admittedly, I don't know much about what these guys need. Heard they need a guard. So here ya go.)
  20. Arizona Cardinals- Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M (They need to protect Palmer better. Pair him on the right side with Cooper, who'll be back from injury, and they'll have a solid base going forward.)
  21. Philadelphia Eagles- Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota (Once again, not too informed on the Eagles. I do know that Hageman is incredible value here. Some have him as the top DT in the class.)
  22. Dallas Cowboys- Stephon Tuitt, DL, Notre Dame (Cowboys need to do better in the trenches. Tuitt is a beast.)
  23. Detroit Lions- CJ Moseley, MLB, Alabama (Incredible value here. Wanted to slot him in earlier but there wasn't a place. This guy is a beast, and sticking him behind the best defensive line in the league will only make him better.)
  24. Cleveland Browns- Ifo Expre-Olomu, CB, Oregon (With their QB need filled, they get to go BAP here. They pick a great DB to pair with Joe Haden, and could be heading to the postseason.)
  25. Cincinnati Bengals- Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt (Finally get someone to take the heat off of AJ Green.)
  26. Kansas City Chiefs- Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU (Yep. He has some of the best physical tools in the class, and if his leg is still bothering him at this point, he can sit and learn for a while, which might be good anyway. The Chiefs get their REAL QB of the future.)
  27. San Francisco 49er's- Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU (Two Tigers in a row. They give Kap someone else to throw to. He's a good one.)
  28. New England Patriots- David Yankey, G, Stanford (Didn't know who to slot here. Heck, they'll probably trade down anyway. If not, I expect him to go BAP, and this guy is a stud.)
  29. New Orleans Saints-  Brandon Coleman, WR, Rutgers (Give Brees a weapon to throw to. Maybe he can realize he has other teammates besides Graham.)
  30. Carolina Panthers- Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State (Give Cam another weapon and he'll be an MVP. Make Steve Smith's job easier, too.)
  31. Denver Broncos- Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State (The Broncos get great value and a young corner who can anchor their secondary and learn from Champ.)
  32. Seattle Seahawks- Vic Beasley, LEO, Clemson (Seattle always wants more pass rushers, and Vic fits the bill.)
Thoughts?

I'll take it
I dont think we will be picking top 3 though.

Sounds fine to me.

Kodiak, thanks for your efforts in putting together the Mock Draft and comments.

In terms of current or past NFL LB's, who do you think C.J. Mosley reminds you of?

Does this mean Eric Ebron falls to our pick?! that would be the best christmas ever!

Hmm. Good question. I know he's ridiculously fast. Alabama had him spying Manziel when they played him...

Probably Kuechly, the kid in Carolina, except faster probably. He's got incredible sideline-to-sideline speed, and is a phenomenal leader, coverer, and hitter. He's gonna be a stud.

That's high praise for sure.

As well as MLB Stephen Tulloch and OLB DeAndre Levy are playing this season for the Lions,  if C.J. Mosley drops to pick # 23 and Martin Mayhew and co. evaluate him along the lines that you have, he's going to be difficult to pass up.  Mayhew has put an emphasis on BAP in the past, looking a season or two down the road.  Riley Reiff is exhibit A.

Does this pick line up with what Detroit needs? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: Wasn't aware you guys had a guy in, what's his name, Tulloch. Is he good or just solid? Cause CJ Moseley is gonna be a beast.

It's not a current need,  based on the Lions using 3 LB's around only 40% of the time.  Stephen Tulloch is probably playing a half a notch below Pro Bowl level this season. Tulloch has been extremely durable since coming into the NFL with Tennessee in 2006 and has been a very good FA acquisition ( 2011 ) by the Lions.  Tulloch and OLB DeAndre Levy, who is having a Pro Bowl Caliber season, including having 6 Interceptions,  practically never come off the field.  They are 3 down LB's.  The Lions use a nickel Defense more often than not but practically never use a Dime Defense.

Considering how much upside C.J. Mosley has, it would be difficult keeping him off the field.  If the Lions considered him too good to pass up,  which would be a realistic possibility,  I can envision the Lions keeping Tulloch, Levy, and Mosley on the field on a much higher % of downs than the current 3rd LB,  Ashlee Palmer,  sees the field.

Ok, I feel ya. And see that's the thing about Moseley is that he's so athletic that he can play any LB spot.
I think St. Louis would go with Matthews at #2, they need a bookend LT and I think Matthews is as good a prospect as Barr. Also they have two great DEs which should let them go with a need position in this situation.

That would make him that much more football attractive to the Lions. Jim Schwartz and Defensive Coordinator Gunther Cunningham stress versatility.

Because of the huge impact that Luke Kuechly is making with the Panthers, that might contribute to C.J. Mosley going earlier in the draft than all around LB's have typically in recent years.

Yeah, I've seen him mocked as high as number five. I felt stupid dropping him this low in my mock, but there's no fit.

If St.Louis ends up with pick # 2 and stays in that spot, it probably will come down to them taking a QB if they elect to move on w/o Sam Bradford or Jake Matthews.  The Rams certainly need multiple upgrades on their Offensive Line.  Jake Long's best football days are likely over, which adds to Matthews' value to them.

Believe me, when I have put my past annual mock drafts together, I have gone through the same thing many times.  In 2011,  I had A.J. Green lasting beyond pick # 10,  thinking the Bengals would take a QB with pick # 4.  It led to a chain reaction of Green dropping much further in my mock draft than I preferred.  It turned out to be a major miscalculation, as Green was taken with pick # 4 and has at the very least played up to that draft billing.
Kodiak,  if USC WR Marqise Lee declares for the draft,  around what spot do you think he projects in the draft?

I think it depends on his combine. He has had some injury concerns this season, as well as some concerns about his speed. If he is able to fix those issues, he could be the second rated WR behind Watkins, putting him at maybe 8 to 20. If he doesn't ease the injury stuff, or runs a slow 40, I think he might go early to late second. He's a good player, just a matter of seeing whether he needs a lot or a little developing. Probably a good number 2 receiver in this league.

Which team is ranked number one and playing for the national championship?

How come Bill Polian sez that 8 out of the 11 starters on the Seminoles defense are going to be very high draft picks this year, yet you don't have a single one in your list?
Quote:I think it depends on his combine. He has had some injury concerns this season, as well as some concerns about his speed. If M. Lee doesn't ease the concerns you touched on both the draft, it's possible he could be a version of what Keenan Allen was this year in terms of a WR dropping because of speed and injury concerns.  At least for now, it looks like the Chargers got a steal as a result.
