Quote:We aren't trading a top 5 pick for freaking Jimmy Garapollo. Might as well draft Chad Kelly in the 2nd.
Kelly in the 2nd round? Lol the guy will be lucky to be drafted with his rap sheet, off the field antics and recovering from an ACL injury. He might just barely recover in time to do some of the workouts for his evaluation.

Somebody will draft him on the third day. Definitely not us.

before the acl and then the video of him smoking weed he was my favorite QB in the draft. But i agree, at this point its comical to want to take him in the 2nd. He will be lucky to get drafted
Quote:Honest question here, have you watched much of Watson? He regularly takes deep shots and has great touch on them. He seems really composed to be, even when playing in huge games. The only thing I don't like about him is his throws are a bit weak this year and he isn't as durable as you would like. Otherwise everything else is there.

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you here. Watson's short, and mid accuracy is very good, but when it gets into the mid-long/long territory it's not that good. He'll make a good pass, and he's finished better than he started earlier, but he's way inconsistent from what I've seen. He has a tendency to underthrow on long passes. If it's the deep sideline pass more often than not it's sailing out of bounds. Everybody misses, but he's very hot/cold when it comes to consistently making the tougher pro level throws.

Last year he was 47.5% on passes of 20+ yards and threw for 18 TDs which was the 2nd best in the NCAA I believe.

His arm doesn't look as good this year and I'm not sure why. Last year the touch he put on deep passes was one of his best attributes.

I'm confident no team will touch him, but we'll see. There's been a couple good kids like Brandon Allen and Jeff Driskel last year that barely snuck into being drafted and they weren't knuckleads(Though they didn't come with Kelly's production either). Maybe someone rolls the dice in the 6th or 7th. There's been some nice redemption stories from non QB's, but to have the QB of the team be one of the biggest off the field distractions is something else. He's gonna get burnt to a crisp during interviews. Dak slipped two rounds because of a DUI and he was grilled for it by Jason Garrett so I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Kelly has to answer these questions, considering he isn't the most well-spoken fellow to begin with.
put that third up for some decent picks in second and third.

We need a good quantity of picks..

Our track record rolling dice in first is not that good.

More potential with more picks.
