If we aren't the #1 pick and we don't have a shot at Bridgewater is this scenario most likely? We all know Gus is a defensive minded coach. There is way too much talent on the defensive side of the ball in the first round to potentially reach for a QB in the top 10. McCarron would be a solid selection in the 2nd/3rd.
Bradley said he wants an explosive offense and a qb that's a threat to run, aj brings neither but if he can be had in the 4th and later I wouldn't object.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Everyone who has seen a single Jaguars game knows our biggest need is quarterback and our defense is much better than our offense. Gus Bradley is aware of that. JDR is a former linebacker. He was hired four months before we drafted a quarterback, Byron Leftwich, in the first round.
We could just sign Colt McCoy. It would be the same.

I would object to any quarterback being drafted on the third day. A team that needs better quarterbacks can't afford to pick anyone expected to be a career backup.

Are you comparing A.J. McCarron to Colt McCoy as a player or just saying McCoy was a fifth round pick?

If Caldwell thinks it's a reach to pick a QB wherever we pick he's probably not gonna do it unless he's convinced he's the "guy".
Hey JW you know you are allowed to reread your posts before you submit them right?

Probably not
AJ McCarron will be Andy Dalton/Matt Schaub at best I think. No thanks.

I agree.

Okay.

Which one do you have a problem with?
I'm probably McCarron's second biggest fan around here. I doubt he'll be available after the second round.
I'll have a more solid comment after the Iron Bowl. No sense going all in without some more info first.

One of the worst I have ever seen
I could see the Patriots taking him in the 2nd and trading Mallett.

Nobody wants Mallett.
