I like what I've seen of late from Branch, but he's a role player. You can never have enough pass rushers, so I hope we have a chance at Clowney or Barr.
Branch is young and still has a high ceiling

You should have expected him to get better with a season under his belt.

Expect more of the same next year. This is how players develop.

I'm relatively impressed with his continued progress.  He looked like a bust, then maybe salvageable, then almost average.  Last night though was the first time I've seen him line up 1 on 1 with a LT (and a pretty good one) and just beat him to the edge.  You don't want to take one rush and make too much of it, but showing he can do that is still a step forward for him.

I am pretty surprised by how he has progressed. You have to give Bradley and Babich credit. They had faith in him at the start of the season and stuck with him. It looks to be paying off.

It is amazing what can happened to a player like Branch when we have a coach who actually knows how to maximize talent and put players in a position where they can succeed.

Bingo!.....

ANd the above applies to ALL the players.

....ALL those years that I was harping on how important coaching was, only to have people come on here and ignorantly deny the importance of it, citing "players, not plays".....no, no, NO! Coaching IS just as important. Player development and putting players in positions where they can succeed is a key part of the process and that IS on the coaches.

You CANT be serious TMD!  You've been completly bashing this coaching staff all year, "Bob Friggin Bagich and Jedd Flippin Fisch" as well as bashing Gus for hiring them.  Get out of here with youre complete non-sense, you are a joke!
Wait... Wasn't Todd Wash just a bum? Man, I cannot keep this stuff straight!

Who's denying that?

My point made in the previous thread still stands.

You are weird & obsessed.

I'm still not all that high on either Wash, Babich or Fisch. Starting to come around on Bradley, however....

You really are lost.

Quote:Was Bradley my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th choice? yes or no?

No. He was my 6th choice.

After Reid, C. Kelly, B. Kelly, O' Brien, and McCoy.

Yes, at that point I was pro Bradley. He seemed like he could have been the best of what was left. That said, I didn't want them hiring Bradley until they interviewed a few more candidates first, namely Roman & Armstrong. Instead, they went and hired Bradley off of the first interview they gave him. I had a problem with that, and also said ahead of time - that a key for Bradley's success would be the level of assistants he was able to fetch, particularly O Coordinator & D Coordinator. When the assistant hires were underwhelming, thats something I took issue with.

But keep trying to paint a slanted view. Thats what you usually do.
Second-year defensive end Andre Branch tallied his fourth sack of the season including his third in the last four games.  Branch added four tackles (three solo), one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit.

You know whats great? OPINIONS CAN CHANGE! You bash him for making an initial statement but that statement can change over time givin more information. Belicheck was probably thought of as a terrible coach and then all of a sudden he becomes the best coach in the NFL.

freak, you're the only one acting like I am saying that I never said those things.

You are arguing against no one.

I'm not denying any of that (what I said) , nor am I retracting my stance I had on the assistants.

The only thing thats different is Gus is starting to win me over. Does it change that I wanted all those coaches before Gus? Nope.

Again, you're weird and obsessed.

blah,blah,blah

Branch getting better.

Ok, clearly you don't know how coaching works.  Where do you think player development and all these schemes where putting players where they can succeed come from.  Is Gus doing all that or can you give credit to his awful assistant hires?

Nope, you must go to the grave with an opinion once you state it on a message board. :woot:

Props to Gus, He's doing a good job right now.

The assistants deserve some credit. Doesn't mean I would change my opinion on Wash, Fisch or Babich. But they do deserve some credit. Not denying that either.
Soo..that Branch guy got another sack last night. If we get another good dt along side Marks he could get even more
