Cmon now. The BIG10 team won the inaugural championship by defeating both Bama and Superman MM.
This year was definitely a different story though.
Ohio State is extremely young and really wasn't expected to go this year. PSU was the hottest team from that conference.
The Buckeyes offense sucked though. I never thought JT Barrett was all that good. Ohio State caught a break when Cardale Jones got to play the last 3 games for them a couple years ago.
If they get a better QB, they'll probably be back in the next season or two.

Buckeyes offense was dreadful.
To start the game, they got an INT and a terrific kick return to set them up in outstanding field position.
Buckeyes offense couldn't do anything with it. And then the FG kicker missed 2 consecutive attempts,, completely blowing their opportunities.
I knew it was all downhill from there.
JT Barrett just isn't good enough, IMO. If Urban Meyer keeps up with getting QBs like him that are strictly just spread guys, I don't think they'll succeed in any playoffs like that.
They really got a lucky break a couple years ago when Jones had to play. That forced the Buckeyes to play more of a traditional QB role offense,, and it succeeded (that and a really strong defense).
Buckeyes are really young in some key positions. They'll be back,, but won't succeed without a better style of QB.
Kiffin out as OC vs Clemson. I guess that play calling during the Washington game pushed Saban over the edge.
